What are we looking for?
We are looking for a JIRA engineer to join the IT team. The SentinelOne IT team's mission is to provide highly reliable and innovative services to the enterprise. The JIRA engineer will be part of a small team that manages all aspects of our JIRA software suite (Confluence, Software, and Service Management). This position will focus on creating standard JIRA services across the different JIRA platforms. Standard services will allow IT and its services to scale as the business groups. Part of the service delivery model will include a power user approach for the business partners. The power users approach will allow for some light weight configuration capabilities which will allow the business to make changes at the speed they wish to run while ensuring that the platform is secure and has high availability.

What will you do?

  • Work closely with stakeholders to successfully complete IT infrastructure & development projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and SQL skills
  • Create complex JIRA Automation Rules, project workflows, field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes
  • Manage use/group permissions and project roles
  • Understands organizational and business functions and makes sound decisions.
  • Maintain the complete Jira and Confluence instance in an efficient way so that it can be able to integrate with other Atlassian and 3rd party applications.
  • Improve the existing Jira instance performance.
  • Create and support the Confluence spaces and role based access.
  • Manage system access and permissions configurations to ensure compliance and enforce best practices
  • Create, manage and support on how to leverage Atlassian APIs for users to automate manual processes, implement business processes and extract data for reporting and analytics purposes
  • Support teams and senior executives with their reporting needs by developing dashboards directly in Jira.
  • Consult, coach, and train key users and business stakeholders on best practices in using the tools to better perform their Scrum roles
  • Contribute with your experience in creating processes and documentation for day to day administration activities for the rest of the team and project leads

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

  • 5+ years of experience working in a Jira Engineer/Administration role
  • Experience with JQL, Groovy, JavaScript and REST API's
  • Hands-on experience in plugins such as ScriptRunner, Configuration Manager, Automation for Jira, Portfolio/BigPicture, etc.
  • Experience managing both Software and Service Desk Projects in a Cloud environment
  • Experience migrating Jira data from Atlassian Cloud to On-Prem and from On-Prem to Cloud
  • Experience merging multiple Atlassian Cloud instances and multiple On-Prem instances
  • Extensive experience managing enterprise Confluence environment
  • Experience integrating JIRA and Confluence with multiple collaboration, messaging and project management tools.
  • IT technical skills necessary to assist and/or assign IT requests
  • Ability to identify problems and deliver successful resolutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to document processes with appropriate text and visual components
  • Listening and interpretation skills
  • Must possess attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience in managing other Project Management tools like Asana, Monday.com is a PLUS
