What are we looking for?

We are looking to add a SRE manager, with prior extensive operations experience for a SaaS product, who can balance keeping lights on and driving large scale projects. You will also help keep our uptime promise to customers by making sure we meet our SLOs. You will help our site reliability teams ship infrastructure changes fast and with quality. In this job, you will have an amazing opportunity to drive outcomes that improve reliability, stability and cost efficiency of SentinelOne’s cloud services.

Someone who has driven continuous deployment through Infrastructure as Code, has run incident post-mortems, has provided feedback to engineering architecture decisions and has automated repetitive operational tasks would be a great fit. You will lead a like minded team of awesome SRE engineers who help run our operations smoothly at scale. What will you do?

SRE organization’s mission at SentinelOne (S1) is to keep our uptime promise to our customers by ensuring we meet our SLOs/SLAs, help our engineering teams ship software to our customers fast and with quality and ensure our customers are successful.

In this job as SRE Manager, you will join the 'Core SRE' team at S1 and have an amazing opportunity to drive outcomes that improve reliability, stability and cost efficiency of S1’s 'Singularity Platform' – our largest customer facing service, which has over 12,000 B2B/B2G customers deployed across over 5 regions and 2 cloud service providers.

Big projects that are upcoming that you could work on include e.g.: Monitoring and Observability Uplift, Logging Pipeline modernization and more!

  • Lead and Mentor the Team: Guide and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure System Reliability: Oversee the stability, scalability, and performance of SentinelOne’s services, implementing best practices in monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
  • Drive Automation: Enhance efficiency by developing and implementing automation tools and scripts, and promoting the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Manage Incidents: Lead incident response efforts, ensuring timely resolution, effective communication, and conducting post-incident reviews to drive improvements.
  • Plan for Capacity and Scalability: Monitor system performance, anticipate scaling needs, and collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to align on priorities, reliability goals, and foster a cooperative environment.
  • Enhance Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities.

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

  • 10+ years of total experience in operations, SRE and DevOps
  • 5+ years of experience in managing SRE teams
  • 3+ years experience in running incidents a large scale SaaS product
  • 5+ years experience in practicing agile methodologies
  • 5+ years experience in hiring and growing teams
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to incident management.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
  • You have a fairly good grip of programming (ideally Python or Golang)
  • Curiosity, fast-learning, pursuit to improvements, great communication
  • Keeping a pulse on latest SRE trends and Open Source
Apart from the above technical skills, following soft skills are desired:
  • Ability to work in a diverse and distributed team is highly desired
  • A self-starter that is passionate and motivated by new technologies and has empathy for legacy systems
  • A quick learner that can navigate through unfamiliar programming languages, systems and processes
  • Prior product building experience is optional but desired
