What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel, Employment to support our Global Head of Employment Law in providing strategic, practical employment law advice across a global organization. This role will partner closely with the People team and cross‑functional stakeholders, with a primary focus on the United States and EMEA, while contributing to scalable global frameworks.
What will you do?
- Lead and take initiative on internal investigations, including employee complaints, workplace conduct matters, and policy violations, and advise on and support any required remediation efforts.
- Act as a trusted counselor on the full employee lifecycle, including complex hiring, performance management, executive compensation, and sensitive terminations.
- Partner closely with the People team and other internal stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate employment‑related risks.
- Develop, review, and help implement employment policies, practices, and best‑in‑class frameworks that scale globally while accounting for local requirements.
- Support the Lead Employment Counsel on complex or high‑risk matters, including escalations, sensitive employee issues, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with outside counsel as needed and help manage costs and outcomes effectively.
What skills and experience should you bring?
- You have a JD with 6+ years of employment law experience
- You're familiar with and have advised on key employment law frameworks such as non-competes, separations, disability claims, and recruiting.
- You have a well-grounded knowledge of US employment law.
- You demonstrate sound and practical business judgment.
- You have the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced and demanding work environment and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You have a bias and drive for action, learning and problem solving.
- You are highly responsive with a service-focused approach.
- You are both a collaborative teammate and able to work independently.
- You have 4+ years of in-house experience at a technology company.
- Experience working closely with People Team in EMEA and/or other jurisdictions
