Rail is set to dominate short and medium haul travel around the world. It’s faster, greener and more convenient than air travel, and it cuts down on the carbon emitting congestion of road travel. With the ongoing climate crisis it’s more important than ever to put this mode of transport at the forefront of people's minds. The trouble is, there’s been nothing modern about rail’s online customer experience… until now!

We are SilverRail, a global tech company delivering the digital infrastructure that opens up rail to the world. Our technology is powering rail and travel agencies across the globe, making it easy for people to choose rail and cut their carbon emissions.

We have been around for more than 12 years, with our teams now based globally from our bases in London, Boston, Brisbane and Stockholm. The Role

As our Growth Director, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing existing relationships, but also driving growth opportunities within your portfolio of clients, identifying further areas we can support them and delivering to their needs of making rail easy. You won't just be chasing targets; you'll be crafting the narrative and steering the ship alongside the VP Commercial, and your other teammates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the revenue growth targets for your accounts
  • Report on key performance metrics within account partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers as well as identify growth opportunities to deepen these partnerships
  • Secure renewals through strategic engagement
  • Drive the communication strategy for our clients
  • Rally internal resources to ensure we deliver high-quality results, delighting our customers
  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that products and services meet customer needs and align with market trends
  • Immerse yourself in the rail industry; become the go-to industry expert and harness this knowledge to inform market driven strategies
  • Deep dive into our products, answering top level client queries

Required Competence and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field would be beneficial
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in a B2B environment
  • Background in the rail or travel industry preferred
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and developing strategic accounts.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commercially savvy with a strong understanding of the pulse of the market and current trends
  • A growth mindset, coupled with a self-starter mentality
  • Ability to bridge the gap between our clients and the technical team, with an understanding of how our products work. API knowledge is beneficial
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically, passionate about innovation and continuous improvement
  • Open to travelling as required to meet with new and existing clients, as well as the internal team
