The Role
We’re searching for a Manager of Financial Control to join our global finance department and manage our reporting requirements. You will be joining a finance team based in the UK, but working for a business with offices in Boston, Brisbane and Stockholm. Part of the role will involve business partnering with teams in these locations.
The role will report into the Director of Financial Control. As the business is entering a key growth phase, it’s a unique opportunity to influence and develop the strategic and operational direction of a crucial area of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work with the Director of Financial Control to complete month-end reporting requirements; this will include determining accounting entries for the month, preparing the consolidated accounts, preparing and reviewing key balance sheet reconciliations
- Liaise with our outsourcing partners in the UK, US and Australia who manage our bookkeeping to ensure all entries are included each month
- Manage the Accounts Payable function and general accounting for 3 entities, based in the UK, US and Australia
- Responsible for cash forecasting and working with the Director of Financial Control on Treasury Management
- Assist in management of local audits and tax filings
- Maintenance of the accounting system including report building and setting up new GL codes
- Opportunities to lead on strategic projects as the business continues to grow, including the upgrading of our accounting system scheduled for Q3/Q4
Required Competence and Skills
- Educated to graduate or post graduate level
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified essential – would suit a recently qualified individual
- UK, IFRS or US GAAP knowledge preferred
- Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics Navision 2015 or Microsoft Business Central would be advantageous
- Knowledge/experience of rail industry useful but not essential
- Intermediate to Expert in Excel
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with a mix of practice accounting and private company experience
