2026 Summer Intern - Software Engineer
Skyscanner
Innovative. Brave. Straightforward.
At Skyscanner, we like to keep things simple. Working here means collaboration, ownership, and bags of innovation. We’re not afraid to admit it’s a little different from the norm - but if you’re curious, motivated, and love learning by doing, you’ll feel right at home.
The opportunity
This is our Summer Software Engineering Internship Programme, running for approximately up to 12 weeks over the summer. It’s designed to give you real, hands-on experience - not just something to put on your CV, but something you’ll actually learn from.
You’ll join an engineering team and work on meaningful engineering problems alongside experienced Skyscanner engineers. From day one, you’ll be treated like part of the team — contributing, learning, and building things that matter.
The focus is on experiential learning: you’ll learn best by doing, supported every step of the way with the right structure, guidance, and space to grow.
What you’ll be doing
- Learning by building: You’ll work on real engineering tasks and projects that contribute to live products used by millions of travellers
- Working in empowered teams: Collaborating with engineers, product managers and designers in agile, sprint-based teams
- Growing your skills daily: Taking part in bite-sized development sessions designed to boost both technical and professional skills
- Being fully supported: You’ll have a buddy, a mentor, and a dedicated line manager to guide, challenge and cheer you on
- Exploring modern tech: Gaining exposure to industry-leading tools, technologies and engineering best practices
- Learning your way: Accessing online learning platforms (like LinkedIn Learning) to build skills at your own pace
- Connecting with peers: Becoming part of our emerging talent community and building a network that lasts beyond the summer
