We’re looking for a Partner Engineer to join one of our teams who own the built-in Spotify Automotive app in cars experience. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of Spotify into cars, delivering an exceptional music, podcast and audiobook streaming experience to millions of users worldwide. You will collaborate with partners, both internal and external, to drive integrations, resolve technical issues, and enhance the overall Spotify experience in the automotive space.
What You'll Do
- You will be the technical expert for partner integrations, including how our Android Automotive app integrates with partners’ systems, APIs and Android Automotive Operating systems. You will be seen as the “go-to” person by Spotify’s automotive partners on a day-to-day basis.
- You will take the lead in coordinating partner-specific projects and workstreams, covering all aspects of integration and delivery, including launch sign-off. Acting as the bridge between Tech, Product and Automotive, you will employ a broad approach to partner management, shaping the partner technical relationships, timelines and driving improvement initiatives.
- You assist in diagnosing and resolving partner-reported defects and incidents. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to solve and ensure timely resolution, while keeping Spotify’s external partners informed.
- You’ll be responsible for connecting partners’ and Spotify’s needs between our Collaborate with the community of Partner Engineers across Spotify to enhance standards, strategies, and frameworks, fostering continuous improvement.
- You identify dependencies, assess technical risks, and clarify uncertainties to unblock internal and external teams.
- You understand partner requirements and translate them into concrete work for engineering teams. You convey partner needs effectively, contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
Who You Are
- You are truly passionate about the industry and understand the complex technical infrastructure and the dynamics unique to it.
- Experience in software development with languages and environments such as JavaScript/Java/ PHP etc.
- You have proven ability to communicate effectively across different cultures and domains, including product, business, engineering, and design.
- You have an understanding of how distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines work.
- You can recognize operational processes that need improvement and you proactively take initiative to enhance them.
- You are comfortable with flexible working hours to accommodate video calls in different time zones. Occasional travel may be required to visit partners.
- You have a driver’s license.
