The Role
As the Associate Director of Finance and FP&A Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and planning for our company. You will oversee the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions, providing strategic insights to support decision-making and drive business growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with a passion for SaaS and a track record of success in fast-paced environments.
Some key responsibilities of the role -
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including long-range planning.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and business planning.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting:
- Establish and track key SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, etc.)
- Create insightful financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership and board
- Analyse variances between actual and planned results, providing actionable insights.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the executive team and Board of Directors.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure financial performance.
- Lead efforts to improve financial processes, systems, and controls to support the company's growth.
- Strategic Financial Management:
- Partner with business leaders to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of potential business initiatives and strategies.
- Business Case Development:
- Assist in developing business cases for new products, markets, or strategic initiatives
- Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate different options
- Conduct ROI analysis for new projects and investments
- Team Leadership:
- Build and manage a high-performing finance team
- Mentor and develop team members to support their professional growth
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the finance function
Some key requirements of the role -
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; Chartered Accountant or preferred.
- ~10 years of experience in finance, with a focus on FP&A, preferably within a SaaS or technology company.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with Zoho / Quickbooks / SAP / Netsuite is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience working with Marketing teams on both highly quantitative channels (Performance marketing, affiliates, etc.) and more qualitative channels (Brand, public relations, etc.)
- Willingness to partner with Data / Marketing teams to establish attribution frameworks for various channels to help monitor spend efficiency and develop a clear link between investment and returns
