What are we looking for?

We are looking for builders of the 1st order. You should get a rush from creating things from scratch and take pleasure in watching users, try to tear them apart through sheer volume and strange, unthinkable use cases. You will work closely with the Product and AI Research team to build features, tools, and scalable architecture for Spyne. As with any startup, responsibilities will vary frequently. You’ll wear multiple hats, and work across many different technologies, might talk to clients directly, and have an active say in the direction of our product. We want someone who is passionate about this type of environment!

What will you do?

• Software Development: Lead by example by writing scalable, efficient, and maintainable code. Your expertise will guide your team to deliver high-quality software that meets our business needs and exceeds our customers' expectations.
• Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership to a team of talented software engineers. Leverage your deep technical knowledge to make informed design decisions, solve complex problems, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and grow in their careers.
• Execution and Delivery: Instill best practices for software development, ensuring the timely delivery of robust, high-quality products. You will adapt agile methodologies to meet business requirements, with a continuous focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Team Management: Build and nurture a high-performing team by hiring, mentoring, and guiding engineers. Foster a culture of open communication, collaboration, and innovation. Provide constructive feedback and support your team in achieving their career goals and aspirations.

Desired Skills and Requirements:

• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated strong technical competence with a deep understanding of all layers of the web stack, from the client interface to the database. Ability to architect, design, and write code yourself. Experience with multiple technology stacks, languages, and tools, and an understanding of their pros and cons.
• Execution Ability: Proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time. Familiarity with various software development practices and tools, with the ability to adapt, champion, and implement best practices that suit the team and the project.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, concurrency, and computer science fundamentals.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design. Ability to build and operate large-scale systems efficiently and effectively.
• Hands-On Management: Lead by example by being actively involved in coding, code reviews, and design and architecture reviews. Your hands-on approach will help shape the technical direction of the team and ensure high standards are maintained.
• Experience: 4+ years of software industry experience, including 1+ years in a dedicated lead role. Experience in building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Tech Stack Proficiency: Strong experience with our engineering stack, including MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), Redis, Kafka/Pub/Sub, MySQL, and job schedulers.
• Ownership and Drive: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion. You are self-driven, proactive, and passionate about building great products.
