Connections & Community Lead

The Connections and Community Lead will act as the strategic and operational driver in advancing community and connection initiatives that enhance the employee experience within our community at Squarespace. Reporting to the Manager of Workplace Experience, this role will provide vital opportunities for all Squarespace employees at all levels to connect, network, and educate others about their unique cultures and experiences. You will partner with the internal People team to build, enhance, and realize programs that support an inclusive and welcoming workplace environment for Squarespace employees worldwide.
You’ll Get To…
- Own, manage, and enhance existing Inclusion programs, including partnering and program managing the activities of Squarespace’s 7 Employee Resource Groups (ERG). You will act as the strategic advisor and empower Chairs to build sustainable, high trust global community ecosystems.
- Designs and facilitates an intentional two-way process between ERGs and the People Team, communicating employee insights and actionable recommendations and sharing the outcomes of these recommendations back to the community.
- Design and implement streamlined processes, tools, and templates that reduce administrative burden on ERG chairs and allow them to focus on community leadership.
- Own the maintenance and accuracy of inclusion team documentation across internal systems, presentations, and shared communication channels to ensure information is accurate, reliable and available.
- Own the Inclusion budget end-to-end including meeting with Finance to true-up monthly reporting. Manage procurement process and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Define and track ERG success metrics focused on depth of belonging, quality of connection, new member integration, and Chair sustainability, translating insights into clear recommendations that strengthen community health and program impact.
- Partners across the people team to ensure inclusion principles remain central to people initiatives including curating resource libraries for our ERGs to share with their members.
- Lead coordination of the company’s sustainability initiatives and reporting, including cross functional data collection, annual data audit support, vendor partnership for the sustainability report and third party quality review, and ensuring required disclosures are published on the company website in accordance with state regulations. Serve as a point of coordination for internal sustainability efforts.
- Serve as the primary liaison for our employee donation-matching tool, Bright Funds.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in Inclusion, bringing innovative ideas to the organization to enhance its inclusion efforts.
- Partner with the Workplace Experience & Operations team to design community-driven programming for internal events, including speaker selection, panel discussions, storytelling moments, and cultural activations.
- Analyze participation and engagement trends across community programs to identify insights that can inform future initiatives.
- Present program outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders to help guide future Connections & Community team initiatives.
- Own the annual calendar of Connections & Community programming, coordinating with the greater team to align major internal events, cultural moments, and employee initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in HR, inclusion, and ERG program leadership, ideally within a technology company.
- Passionate and proven inclusion leader and builder with a proven track record of owning and evolving complex programs end-to-end, including coaching volunteer leaders and partnering with stakeholders at various levels.
- High emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to facilitate identity centered or sensitive group dialogue and support leaders through nuanced community topics.
- Strong community builder and systems thinker who can balance empathy with accountability, define clear scope, and translate strategy into sustainable operating models.
- Highly organized project manager with the ability to build and realize plans, identify dependencies, reduce administrative burden, and proactively address roadblocks.
- Skilled communicator who can influence without formal authority and relay information clearly, empathetically, and with sound judgment.
- Bias toward collaboration, manages change with empathy and respects the ideas of others. Strong track record of holding partners accountable to deadlines and proactive in communication.
- Solutions-oriented individual who displays comfort with ambiguity and approaches problems methodically. Able to independently juggle multiple concurrent projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Ability to work three days per week in the office, with occasional evening, weekend, or after hours availability to support events or key initiatives.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to Inclusion.

Cash Compensation Range: $80,000 - $125,000 USD
The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.
In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
