Your Role:

As the Lead Engineer for Tenable’s Ecosystem, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing all technical aspects of the ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, contractors, and architects to build, and maintain robust integrations, frameworks, and libraries that enhance the functionality and versatility of our platform. This role requires a strong background in software engineering, API design, and integration strategies, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Your Opportunity:

  • Technical Leadership - Lead the technical design and implementation of our platform ecosystem framework and integrations, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security

  • API Architecture: - Help define and establish best practices for API design, documentation, versioning, and governance to support the ecosystem

  • Collaboration - Collaborate closely with point product managers, contractors, and architects to understand requirements, help prioritize features, and deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives

  • Code Quality and Performance - Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment pipelines

  • Technical Mentorship - Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team

  • Stay Updated - Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in API development, integration patterns, and architectures, and apply them to drive innovation and improvement

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on building APIs and integrations

  • Proficiency in Python and Java, as well as experience with RESTful API design and development

  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers

And Ideally:

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)

  • Knowledge of modern API technologies

  • Contributions to open-source projects or community involvement in relevant technical communities

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
