Your Role:

Tenable is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to bridging the gap between our core infrastructure team and the service teams, ensuring that our products are reliable and meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong software engineering background with experience in SRE principles and practices, and be able to communicate effectively with development, architecture, and product teams.

Your Opportunity:

  • Collaborate with development teams to design, build, and release reliable applications that meet rigorous observability standards.

  • Implement and manage robust CI/CD pipelines that integrate automated testing and observability checks.

  • Champion observability by building and maintaining scalable monitoring tools that provide deep insights into system health and performance.

  • Conduct thorough production readiness reviews, ensuring services are thoroughly monitored, tested, and optimized for deployment.

  • Partner with product managers and architects to champion reliability as a core principle throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

  • Develop tools and frameworks to enhance the capacity planning and observability of our systems.

  • Provide expert support for the infrastructure team, focusing on the scalability and reliability of our services.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in software development or a related field.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, Kotlin, Node.JS, or similar.

  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies and infrastructure as code.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.

  • Understanding of SRE principles and practices including: high availability, reliability, security, performance, and distributed tracing.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

And Ideally:

  • Experience in a similar role with a track record of building reliable and scalable software systems.

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Proven experience implementing and utilizing observability tools and practices, including metrics collection, alerting, and dashboards (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, APM tools).

  • Previous experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small teams.

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance. $106,000$141,333.33 USD
