The Role
Proofpoint is seeking a self-starting, responsible, and highly motivated Renewal Sales Account Manager to join our rapidly expanding APJ team. This highly visible, hands-on role is critical to driving customer satisfaction and ensuring successful subscription renewals across a growing customer base.
You will work closely with Sales Account Owners, Sales Engineers, Channel team, and Customer Success to manage the full renewal lifecycle. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, results-driven, and able to engage with both senior-level business leaders and technical stakeholders across small to large-scale enterprises.
This role will be based in Sydney, Australia.
Your day-to-day
- Own and manage the full renewal process for your assigned territory
- Drive the qualification, quoting, and workflows alongside Account Managers and Regional Directors to close renewals efficiently
- Accurately forecast renewal revenue on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis using Salesforce, Clari and other tools
- Meet or exceed customer renewal revenue quotas and churn targets
- Coordinate internal resources to support renewal execution and customer satisfaction
- Build and maintain strong relationships at both executive and operational levels
- Proactively identify risk and resolve customer issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Maintain a sharp focus on customer retention and actively work to reduce attrition
- Research and understand customer organisational structures and maintain account intelligence in Salesforce
- Track implementation, support activities, and customer engagement metrics
- Stay informed about Proofpoint’s market position and competitive landscape
- Create customer quotes, maintain accurate data, and ensure accuracy via Salesforce and other CRM and finance tools
What you bring to the team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate Proofpoint’s value proposition
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to thrive independently and as part of a regional and global team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations
- Proven ability to coordinate internal resources to support complex sales and renewal strategies, pricing and process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web conferencing platforms
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Clari and other online sales tools
- 3+ years of successful experience in account management, business development, or SaaS renewals
- Experience working with Cybersecurity teams, Channel Partners, Legal, and Procurement departments
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience preferred
