The Sales Enablement Instructional Designer Intern role is an integral one within Worldwide Sales Enablement. The Instructional Designer Intern will contribute to our team’s continued growth and scalability as well as the evolution of our training programs.


Cross Team Collaboration: The Instructional Designer Intern collaborates with the Enablement Program leads as well as teams around the globe to build visually impactful and interactive learning modules to address the needs of the sales organization.

Scope of Responsibility: This role plans for upcoming content creation, assists with development of training videos or webinars, identifies older content that needs to be removed or updated, and measures adoption of learning content to improve seller effectiveness and accelerate new sales hire ramp to productivity. Specifically, this role will develop learning modules and weekly newsletter communications around Proofpoint’s products, systems/tools and processes, sales/presentation/communications skills, value selling, and more using a combination of e-mail communications, e-learning content, and video trainings. Proficiency in instructional design, communications, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and other or similar content creation and analytical tools is a requirement.

Your day-to-day

  • Work with “subject matter experts” defining training course objectives, scope, sequence, and audiences to identify an appropriate training method such as video shorts, webinars, and email communications.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write training scripts, interviews, and associated documentation.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to construct simple, polished, and engaging content such as video shorts and other content mediums for our sellers and managers. This may include voiceovers, applying video animations or editing existing videos to improve the understanding and ensure that content is on brand.
  • Share updates for Proofpoint’s products, systems, tools, and processes via weekly newsletter.
  • Evaluate current content and develop an innovative approach for initial review of existing content and ongoing management strategy of all digital assets.
  • Review meta data and tagging of existing library to develop better search engine optimization and content discovery.
  • Support operations in learning management systems, including uploading new content and tracking utilization of course materials.

What you bring to the team

  • Foundational knowledge of Instructional Design or Lesson Planning
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to create content for multiple mediums and audiences
  • Proven time management skills to effectively coordinate multiple projects
  • Experience working cross functionally to complete projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with technical aptitude and keen attention to detail
  • Fluency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Video Editing Software
  • Previous experience working in technology industry
