The Role
The Sales Commissions Analyst supports the administration of Proofpoint's sales compensation programs by helping ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of commission-related data and transactions. This role partners closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Deal Desk, Order Management, and Finance to review commission-impacting transactions, research compensation-related inquiries, and validate information that drives accurate commission calculations.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large datasets, business systems, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. This position plays an important role in supporting compensation operations, maintaining data quality, and helping ensure compensation plans are administered consistently and accurately. The role also supports commission reporting and analysis by preparing operational reports, monitoring data quality trends, analysing compensation-related metrics, and providing insights that help improve compensation processes and business decision-making.
Your day-to-day
Support the review of commission-impacting transactions, including new business, renewals, expansions, partner transactions, territory assignments, and other sales activities to help ensure alignment with approved compensation plans and policies.
Partner with Sales, Sales Operations, Deal Desk, Order Management, and Finance to research and resolve data discrepancies and assist in validating compensation-related information before it enters the commission process.
Assist in responding to compensation-related inquiries from the sales organization by researching credit questions, territory ownership concerns, and commission-related issues.
Provide guidance on compensation policies and transaction treatment while escalating complex matters to management as appropriate.
Perform data quality reviews and audits of compensation-related information across Salesforce, Xactly, and other supporting systems.
Identify potential data integrity issues, investigate root causes, and collaborate with business partners to implement corrective actions that improve data accuracy and process efficiency.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses related to transaction quality, commission performance, exception management, inquiry trends, and compensation operations to support business decision-making and process improvements.
Analyze compensation-related data to identify trends, anomalies, process gaps, and opportunities for operational improvement.
Assist in developing reporting solutions that provide visibility into commission performance, transaction quality, inquiry volumes, and compensation program effectiveness.
Support month-end and quarter-end reporting activities by validating compensation data and providing analytical support to stakeholders.
Support compensation plan implementations, audits, documentation updates, and process improvement initiatives designed to enhance data governance and operational effectiveness.
