In Platform Engineering we believe in the power of autonomy and in giving end-to-end ownership to all engineers, to deliver value quickly, reliably, in a secure and compliant way.

To deliver on Platform Engineering’s mission, we build and run infrastructure and services platforms that serve millions of users of Trade Republic, by providing secure and reliable environments so teams can have access, visibility and tools to help them to deliver cloud native Software.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Be accountable for ensuring engineering and security standards are followed
• Oversee technical and system solutions from design to implementation to operation
• Contribute to department and company architecture
• Think scalability first, in a constructive fashion - understanding the balance of creating features that can launch fast and hyperscale
• Balance speed of delivery, reliability, security and compliance.
• Create the north star to aim for in technical excellence within the department and at the company level
• Participate in continuously improving the engineering practice, always with Trade Republic as a whole in mind
• Guide architecture decisions within the department, offering options and tradeoffs.
• Implement best engineering practices and processes for the department
• Act as the technical leader, supporting Product Owners in scoping, breaking down problems and estimating efforts
• Contribute as an architect on a department level, and influence technology in the whole company
• Mentor colleagues to improve their skill set and grow.
• Address technical problems, recognizes risks, and resolves issues
• Give direct feedback in architecture reviews, scoping and planning session, and other opportunities for the team to grow

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• You have at least 5 years experience as a Head of Technology or a similar leadership role within a startup or rapidly growing company preferably in Fintech or Banking
• You have deep understanding of software development and Backend Engineering
• Your have strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide technical teams
• You have a track record of solving complex technical challenges and make decisions that drive innovation
• You have experience working with C level leadership
