Our Engineering team is dedicated to achieving technical excellence, optimising efficiency, and delivering a cutting-edge experience for our customers. Our Anti-Financial Crime team is driven by a bold vision: to make Trade Republic the safest place for money and a leader in innovation. We aim to set the standard for state-of-the-art solutions, not just adopt them.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Define and lead the department’s tech vision, aligning it with the product strategy and setting the standard for technical excellence.
  • Support product strategy by breaking down complex problems and estimating effort for solutions.
  • Serve as an architect, guiding decisions at the department and company level, offering balanced options and tradeoffs.
  • Oversee technical solutions from design through implementation and operation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering best practices, ensuring adherence to company-wide standards, including security.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, addressing risks proactively.
  • Mentor team members through code and architecture reviews, promoting growth and upskilling opportunities.
  • Be part of Trade Republic Engineering Leadership

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Extensive experience as Head of Technology or similar leadership role in startups or hyper-growth companies.
  • Deep expertise in software and machine learning engineering, and data science.
  • A research-driven mindset that balances rapid delivery with continuous improvement of techniques and tools.
  • Strong leadership with proven ability to influence and guide technical teams.
  • Skilled in balancing fast feature delivery with scalability for growth.
  • Comfortable navigating uncertainty while shaping vision and strategy.
  • Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges and driving innovation.
  • Experienced in collaborating with C-level leadership.
