The Event Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operational infrastructure that powers Alteryx’s global event portfolio, including our flagship Inspire user conference, Sales Kickoff (RKO), Winners Circle incentive program, executive events, corporate programs, and all events swag.
This role owns the full event technology ecosystem and operational logistics framework — including registration platforms, mobile app, reporting and analytics, housing management, onsite logistics, shipping, survey tools, attendee communications, and branded merchandise operations. The ideal candidate is both systems-minded and detail-obsessed, capable of building scalable processes while ensuring flawless execution across events ranging from intimate executive roundtables to 1,800-person global conferences.
This role reports to the Director of Events and works cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Executive Leadership, IT, Legal, Procurement, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Event Technology & Systems Ownership
Own and manage event registration platforms (e.g., Cvent or equivalent)
Oversee mobile event app configuration and deployment
Manage event websites and registration flows
Lead integrations between event platforms and CRM/marketing automation systems
Build scalable templates and standard operating procedures for recurring programs
Oversee survey tools and feedback systems
Data, Reporting & Analytics
Develop and manage event reporting dashboards
Track registration trends, attendance, engagement, and ROI metrics
Partner with Marketing and Sales Ops to align event data with pipeline tracking
Deliver post-event performance analysis and executive-ready reporting
Ensure data integrity and compliance (privacy/GDPR where applicable)
Housing & Travel Logistics
Manage room blocks and housing portals
Negotiate and oversee housing vendors
Track pickup, attrition, and compliance
Coordinate VIP and executive housing allocations
Support travel logistics for key programs (especially Winner’s Circle)
Shipping & Onsite Logistics
Oversee all event shipping logistics (expo materials, signage, collateral, swag)
Manage warehouse coordination and advance shipments
Build master logistics timelines and run-of-show operational plans
Ensure proper inventory tracking and reconciliation
Partner with production and venue teams on load-in/load-out plans
Communications & Attendee Experience Operations
Develop and manage attendee communication timelines
Own automated email campaigns tied to registration milestones
Build FAQs, confirmation messaging, and onsite instructions
Ensure clarity and consistency across all operational communications
Partner with marketing for branding alignment
Swag Store & Merchandise Operations
Oversee product selection, inventory planning, and forecasting in partnership with Brand/Marketing
Manage merchandise fulfillment, shipping logistics, and quality control
Track usage, demand trends, and budget performance
Develop reporting on merchandise spend and distribution by program
Ensure brand consistency and cost efficiency across all merchandise
Support event-specific merchandise planning (Inspire, RKO, Winner’s Circle, executive events)
Process & Vendor Management
Create scalable playbooks and documentation across event types
Evaluate and manage event tech vendors and partners
Negotiate contracts in partnership with procurement
Drive continuous process improvement across the event portfolio
Onsite Leadership
Serve as operational lead onsite for major programs
Manage registration desk operations
Oversee housing desk and attendee issue resolution
Support show flow logistics and cross-team coordination
Team Support & Partnership
Serve as a core operational partner to the broader Global Events team across all major programs.
Provide onsite leadership support during flagship conferences, internal programs, executive events, and incentive trips.
Assist team members with logistics coordination, issue resolution, and real-time problem-solving during live events.
Step in to support other event workstreams as needed to ensure overall program success.
Act as a central connector across production, content, sponsorship, executive engagement, and experience teams.
Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing tools, best practices, and operational expertise across programs.
Qualifications
Required Experience
6–10+ years of event operations experience
Experience managing 1,000+ attendee conferences preferred
Deep expertise in event registration systems (Cvent or similar)
Experience managing mobile apps and event tech integrations
Strong understanding of housing management and room block strategy
Experience with reporting, data analysis, and ROI measurement
Proven ability to manage complex logistics and shipping
Skills & Competencies
Systems thinker with strong operational rigor
Highly detail-oriented with strong project management skills
Comfortable working across multiple large-scale programs simultaneously
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills
Calm under pressure; solutions-oriented onsite leader
Financial acumen related to vendor management and budget tracking
Ability to build scalable processes, not just execute tasks
Preferred
Experience in B2B SaaS or tech environments
Experience supporting executive-level programs
Familiarity with Salesforce or marketing automation integrations
Experience managing international programs

Compensation
Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation is determined by several factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
The base salary range for this role in the United States is $93,000 - $110,000. This role is also eligible for a target annual bonus of 15% of base salary, based on individual and company performance.
In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, this role includes clear forms of additional compensation, such as:
