Manager/ Senior Manager: SCM Strategy
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
About the Role:
We are building a high-impact SCM Strategy team to drive end-to-end transformation of our supply chain. As Manager / Senior Manager – SCM Strategy, you will own the full lifecycle of strategic initiatives: from identifying the problem and quantifying the business case, through BRD creation and product coordination, all the way to UAT, on-ground go-live, and delivering against committed metrics.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable working with data in a spreadsheet, writing a crisp one-pager for a leadership review, and standing on a warehouse floor ensuring smooth adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Case & Problem Framing
- Build structured business cases for SCM initiatives covering warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and procurement - with clear financial and operational impact quantification
- Diagnose operational issues using data (WMS logs, ERP reports, field observations) and translate them into well-scoped problem statements
- Develop investment proposals with ROI, break-even timelines, and risk framing suitable for leadership and cross-functional sign-off
BRD Creation & Product Coordination
- Author detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for supply chain tech initiatives-covering process flows, edge cases, system integration requirements, and success metrics
- Act as the primary bridge between operations stakeholders and the product/tech team-ensuring requirements are clearly communicated, prioritized, and delivered
- Track open items, follow up on product decisions, and manage the backlog in coordination with PM and engineering counterparts
UAT & Implementation
- Design and execute User Acceptance Testing plans-including test cases, pilot configurations, and sign-off checklists
- Lead on-ground implementation at warehouse and logistics touchpoints-coordinating training, floor readiness, and day-one stabilization
- Monitor go-live metrics, identify early failure signals, and work with tech teams to close gaps before full rollout
Business Case Delivery & Metric Ownership
- Own the post-implementation tracking of committed KPIs-picker productivity, inventory accuracy, shrinkage reduction, SLA compliance, cost absorption, or other initiative-specific metrics
- Present performance dashboards and variance analysis to senior stakeholders with clear narrative on what's working and what needs course correction
.Change Management & Adoption
- Design and execute change management plans for WMS, ERP, or process rollouts-covering communication, SOP creation, training, and escalation handling
- Manage resistance on the floor through structured engagement-team leads, supervisors, and regional WH managers
- Build SOPs and knowledge artifacts that outlast the project and enable sustainable adoption
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams (warehouse ops, tech, finance, customer experience) and external vendors (WMS providers, logistics partners) to drive initiative timelines
- Track vendor deliverables and escalate where necessary to ensure project milestones are not missed
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- MBA from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institute with 1-2 years of relevant experience in supply chain, operations, or strategy roles
- Engineering graduate (any discipline) with 3+ years of experience in SCM, product operations, or tech-led operations roles
- Prior exposure to e-commerce, quick commerce, pharma, or D2C supply chains is a strong plus
Skills & Competencies
- End-to-end thinking: ability to connect a business problem to a structured solution to a measurable outcome-without losing the thread
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable building financial models, reading SQL outputs, interpreting WMS/ERP data, and creating Excel-based trackers
- BRD and documentation fluency: can write precise, structured requirement documents that product teams can act on without constant hand-holding
- Execution orientation: not just a strategy person-willing to be on the floor, debug issues, and close the last mil
- Communication: can write a crisp leadership update, a detailed SOP, or a slide for a business review-and know which one is needed when
