Join our team as a Machine Learning Engineer and help us understand and tackle cancer!

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our applied research team, focusing on modeling the behavior of cancer cells. Our research teams are dedicated to creating and training novel cancer cell models, allowing us to simulate hundreds of millions of samples for real-world applications. In a mixed team of ML scientists, engineers and bioinformaticians, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with people who tackle hard, unsolved machine learning problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrating new research with production systems: Your primary responsibility will be to integrate new techniques with the existing codebase. This includes performance optimization, and interfacing with the platform developers.
• Developing tooling: we need the most flexible automation systems and tools to be able to iterate on research as fast as possible.
• Working with multiple research teams to find the best implementations for new ideas.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the best technologies we can use to improve our productivity.

Essential expertise:

• Min. 3 years of experience in a machine learning / data heavy industrial environment.
• Familiarity SQL databases
• Strong applied knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with the basics of cloud computing, with some experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Good understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with at least one modern, high-performance machine learning framework, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• Proficiency in designing and writing complex, modular code.

Nice to have:

• Experience with implementing custom transformer and GNN architectures.
• Domain Knowledge: While not mandatory, familiarity with cell, cancer, or immune biology is advantageous. We highly value a strong intention to acquire domain knowledge, and we are committed to supporting your learning journey.
