Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Head of Bank Relationships will have primary day-to-day responsibility for Unit’s relationships with bank customers. This position will play a critical role in maintaining and growing Unit’s relationships with current bank customers, as well as identifying and implementing future bank customers. The ideal candidate has significant banking or fintech experience, is deeply committed to customer service and building deep, long-lasting relationships, and enjoys developing creative solutions with internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the Bank Relationships function, including customer success, sales, and implementations.

  • Develop deep relationships with bank customers to understand and communicate their needs and goals.

  • Be a leading voice and champion for bank customer success within Unit.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on bank-related issues to the Go-to-Market, Platform, Product and other teams.

  • Understand and contribute to new product development for banks.

  • Be an evangelist for the Unit platform with bank customers, including developing and delivering training and written assets and identifying opportunities for automation and product enhancements.

  • Attend industry events and contribute thought leadership in writing and speaking opportunities.

  • Deliver periodic and ad hoc reporting to bank customers and internal teams.

  • Expected travel 25-50% to visit bank customers and attend conferences and other external events.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of experience in banking or fintech, with a focus on embedded finance, sponsor banking, relationship management, and/or program management.

  • Creative and solutions-oriented mindset with a track record of building and maintaining important external relationships with banks or other partners.

  • Enthusiasm for customer success in a complex, heavily regulated industry and experience translating between banking, product, and business stakeholders.

  • Passion for building financial infrastructure and comfort with working with product and engineering teams on product enhancements to better meet bank customers’ needs.

  • Knowledge of banking, fintech, embedded finance, payments, and/or lending.

  • Collaborative team player who enjoys teaching others, investing in other team members, and is good at breaking down complex issues into digestible explanations.

  • Experience with compliance, risk management, and banking and customer protection laws a plus.
