Job Description
About the Role
As a Flight Operations Specialist, you’ll be on the frontlines of all field operations. From assisting in flight tests and demos to ensuring smooth integration of systems in the field, you’ll play a hands-on role in proving our UAVs in real-world conditions. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on the field, and is excited to grow into operations leadership over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Pilot: Assist in the setup, execution, and monitoring of internal flight tests, trials, and field demos.
- User Demos: Support the Operations Manager in planning and conducting demonstrations, tailoring execution to specific client needs.
- System Integration: Work hands-on with UAV subsystems—assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, and tuning—for mission readiness.
- Testing & Feedback: Collect and document flight test data, support root-cause analysis, and channel insights to engineering teams.
- Operational Documentation: Help create and refine SOPs, manuals, and maintenance checklists.
- Tracking & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of operations, flight logs, and system performance.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with avionics, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Passion for UAVs and willingness to get hands-on with hardware and flight operations.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in UAV/drone operations as a pilot.
- DGCA Pilot License is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with UAV assembly, soldering, wiring, and field troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with UAV ground control software (Mission Planner, QGroundControl) and flight stacks (ArduPilot, PX4) is a plus.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in the field, solve problems under pressure, and work in a team-first environment.
