Financial Services Business Manager
Veriff
At Veriff, we verify identities at scale, helping businesses connect with honest people online. Our software verifies over 10,000 government-issued documents from more than 190 countries, and this is growing fast! These are millions of verified identities a year and countless people working behind the scenes to help make the lives of millions—and eventually billions—of people safer online. We are a force for good, and we want to be the standard for trust online.
As a FinServ Vertical Manager you will be a Single-Threaded Owner to launch and scale our Financial Services vertical (Neo-banks, FinTechs, Crypto, and Tier-1 Institutions). You will operate as the Mini-CEO of this business unit, taking the vertical from its current state to $50M+ ARR.
You’ll help us protect honest people online by:
Leading the entire performance of the Vertical from defining the offer, to commercial execution to custom improvement on the products:
Strategic P&L Ownership
You own the North Star metrics for the FinServ vertical. You aren't just hitting targets; you are deploying resources (Headcount, Marketing, Product, and Engineering) to maximize ROI.
- The Roadmap: Define a 3-year strategic vision. Identify the Defensible Moats (regulatory, technical, or commercial) that will make us the infrastructure partner of choice. Make build / buy / partner decision to optimize time to market and ensure we are in the leader position.
- Resource Allocation: You start with a budget, but you have the license to negotiate for more based on proven, high-velocity ROI.
- Market Intelligence: Identify gaps in our current product and define the "Vertical Solution" that ensures we don't just "fit" the market—we lead it.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure best-in class execution within the vertical partnering with functional leaders when need be, define and operate performance review cadence supporting our velocity goals.
High-Stakes Commercial Execution
You lead the GTM efforts for the vertical, managing a dedicated pod of Account Executives (AEs) and acting as the Executive Point of Contact for our "Whale" accounts.
- Whale Hunting: Build and execute a curated "Top 15" target list of strategic players. You establish the account planning and relentlessly pursue the close.
- Commercial Engineering: You move beyond standard price lists. You design complex commercial models (e.g., Volume-Tiered Pricing, Shared-Risk models, Blended Margins) that align our revenue with client success and create high switching costs through deep value.
- Product-Led Growth (PLG): Partner with Marketing and Product teams to capture the "Long Tail" and Mid-Market through automated, PLG/Product-Led Sales motions to maximize revenue velocity.
Executive Bridge (Product & Innovation)
You are the "Voice of the Vertical," translating market friction into product requirements.
- Signal vs. Noise: You distinguish between a "one-off" customization for a single Whale and "industry-defining signals" that should be built into our core platform.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead a unit of dedicated SEs, Strategic AMs, and Product Liaisons. You break down silos to ensure Sales, Product, and Delivery operate as one high-velocity organism. Your core mission is to integrate our independent portfolios into a seamless, end-to-end solution that secures market leadership. This requires driving roadmap alignment across diverse product areas, skillfully navigating competing priorities to ensure a unified vision.
- Technical Fluency: You can debate API architecture with a CTO in the morning and negotiate compliance outcomes with a Chief Risk Officer in the afternoon.
You are the right future Veriffian for the job if:
Your DNA is roughly 50% Executive Seller, 30% Product Strategist, and 20% Operator.
-
- You are likely a former Founder, a high-level Chief of Staff, or a Vertical Head at a top-tier FinTech. You are "fluent in business"—unit economics, margin analysis, and legal frameworks are your second language.
- Deep Vertical Fluency: You speak "FinServ." You understand KYC, AML, and local compliance regulations better than the clients do. You don't sell "Identity Features"; you sell Compliance and Outcomes.
- Bias for Action: You are decisive and optimize for velocity. You enable your team to operate autonomously but aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and "call the shots" to unblock a $50M opportunity.
- Bureaucracy-Averse: You want to build a "business within a business" and prefer the high-stakes environment of a scaling vertical over the safety of a slow-moving corporate structure.
