Information about the position
The Fulfilment domain at Vinted Go is responsible for operating two specialised hubs in London and Hamburg where the offline-verification service (i.e. verifying whether an item is a counterfeit or not) for high-value fashion takes place.
Additionally, the Fulfilment domain oversees the entire logistical process surrounding this verification process (e.g. admitting and re-packaging the item), ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow from start to finish.
As a Decision Scientist in this young domain, you will be part of a cross-functional product team working alongside Product Managers, Engineers and Designers. You will report to the team lead of Data Science & Analytics Vinted Go Fulfilment.
In this role, you leverage your proximity to the data to proactively conduct analysis to detect potential bottlenecks, product improvements or new business opportunities and evaluate initiatives using statistical methods (e.g. A/B testing).
You will be considered as the go-to person when it comes to data-related ad-hoc questions and automated reports and dashboards as you know the processes in the verification hubs with all the nitty-gritty details inside out.
This job position offers the best of two worlds: A dynamic environment of a fast-changing startup where you can bring in your own ideas with the stability and resources of an established, profitable enterprise.
In this position, you’ll
- Collaborate with your team and direct stakeholders to identify opportunities and to gather business requirements which you then translate into data models
- Propose and implement business performance metrics and set up monitoring
- Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights via self-service and dashboarding tools (Looker)
- Define the requirements for A/B testing and analyse the results of the tests
- Bring in data-driven ideas to improve the processes in the verification hubs and proactively flag issues
- Ensure requests are answered and presented in an optimal fashion (e.g., in the form of an ad hoc deep-dive, experiment, dashboard, or automatically recurring analysis)
About you
- A good communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences
- Comfortable with constantly changing environments and able to structure your own work
- Proficient in SQL and Python
- Hands-on work experience with a BI tool (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Statistically proficient (e.g. regression analysis, A/B testing)
- Excellent at communicating in spoken and written English
- Advantageous: familiar with a data transformation tool (e.g. dbt or dataform) and version control (git)
