Information about the position
The OpsTech domain at Vinted Go is developing tech solutions for our own logistics operations. As a Decision Scientist here, you’ll dive deep into data, use statistics to analyze it, and build dashboards that actually get used. Your work will impact the real world, improving how millions of shipments get delivered. However, it's not just about moving boxes; it's about helping Vinted users lead more sustainable lives. You’ll be part of the OpsTech Intelligence team, a group of data professionals who turn raw numbers into smarter ways of doing things.
Within Data Science & Analytics (DSA), we have three distinct roles. We believe that each role can make a similarly sized business impact in different ways, and therefore, our salary ranges are the same for all three roles. To understand your role within the DSA context better, here are brief descriptions of each role we have in the department:
- Decision Scientists are responsible for actionable insights, identifying and sizing opportunities, and automated tools that increase the quality of product and business decisions by applying statistical methods and data-driven decision-making.
- Data Scientists are responsible for identification of algorithmic opportunities, ensuring those opportunities are addressed in an optimal fashion and design, development and maintenance of production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.
- Analytics Engineers are responsible for data curation – translating data needs from stakeholders into architecting, building and maintaining efficient & reliable data models and pipelines.
In this position, you’ll
- Use data to help drive improvements in our parcel-delivery operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders (operations managers, analysts, product managers) to identify opportunities and answer key business questions
- Analyse identified opportunities to understand their business impact using statistical methods and visualization tools
- Own key metrics that measure business performance, from selecting and calculating indicators to proactively flagging issues
- Design experiments and track their performance
- Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights via self-service dashboards
About you
- Entry to intermediate experience (typically 2+ years of working experience or alternative activities resulting in a similar level of proficiency)
- Fluent in SQL and working experience in Python
- Analytically curious with strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Highly results-oriented and comfortable with iterative processes
- Strong communicator who can convincingly present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Statistically proficient
- Excellent at communicating in written and spoken English
- Advantage: Practical experience in logistics, operations research or e-commerce

Individual Learning Budget
Vinted will set aside a yearly sum equal to 10-13.2% of your annual salary to be invested in your continuous professional development. You’ll be able to take the initiative to use it for covering relevant learning activities that benefit your role.
Hybrid Work
We’ve adopted a hybrid workplace model where 2 days in office are recommended but not enforced. It’s up to you and your team to decide on the exact days you’ll spend working together in person.
