This role will see you become part of the Trust & Safety Domain, with a mission to protect the Vinted community from harmful activities and content. You will investigate, prioritise, and design strategies to fight offences such as phishing, fraud, and counterfeiting.

You will leverage your analytical skills and expertise to drive data-backed decision-making, discover effective solutions against safety issues, design & run experiments, and co-create a safer and more trustworthy platform for our members.

In this position, you’ll:

  • Collaborate with your team and direct stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and answer key business questions
  • Ensure these questions are answered in an optimal fashion (e.g. in the form of an ad hoc deep-dive, experiment, or dashboard)
  • Analyze identified opportunities to understand their scope and impact
  • Own the key performance indicators for a team, including selection, target-setting, tracking, and proactively flagging issues
  • Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights via self-serving and dashboarding tools
  • Define the requirements for (A/B) testing and analyse the results
  • Help to create a backlog with prioritised hypotheses and analyses

About you:

  • Extensive working experience as a Decision Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist or a related position
  • A good communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and business skills
  • A degree in statistics, physics, econometrics, economics, business or a similar field
  • Statistical proficiency (e.g. A/B testing, regression analysis)
  • Knowledge of at least one statistical programming language (Python, R, etc.)
  • Advantage: Fluency in SQL and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Advantage: experience working in a tech company or in a cross-functional product development team

We want people to work from where they’re most comfortable, which is why we’re using a hybrid workplace model at Vinted for the foreseeable future.

Hybrid means that we encourage working from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the remainder of your time from either home or the office, but it’s not required. You’re welcome to work from either location all or some of the time, depending on what you think is best and safest for you, and how the Covid-19 situation is developing where you are.

The salary range for this position is € 2,983–5,800 (gross) per month.
