Information about the position
You will join the Buyer domain as a Manager of Data Science and Analytics in the Discovery team, who are on a mission to revolutionise the member’s buying experience. Within Discovery, you’ll lead a team of Data and Decision Scientists that harness the vast data resources from our global markets, to create engaging homepage experiences and craft state-of-the-art recommendation systems.
Collaborating closely within a cross-functional team including Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers, you'll play a pivotal role in accelerating experimentation and product development. In this position, you’ll
- Lead a team of data specialists (data scientists and decision scientists)
- Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritise strategic opportunities for Vinted’s homepage and recommender system
- Foster a healthy team environment by supporting team members, helping their career growth and through the proactive hiring of new members
- Contribute to and own the key performance indicators of the team
- Drive measurement of impact through experimentation
- Deliver insights to a variety of stakeholders across Vinted
About you
- Demonstrable experience leading teams (ideally developing data products) and leveraging data for business impact
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A good communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences
- Comfortable with Python and SQL
- Experience with dashboarding and visualisation tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau)
- Experience with statistical analysis and data science techniques, including experiment design, hypothesis testing, metric design and machine learning systems
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Advantage: Experience in recommender systems or personalisation
- Advantage: Experience with a marketplace platform
