Brief info about Vinted

Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:

Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.

Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.

Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.

Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.

Information about the position

We are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Labour Relations Specialist to own and evolve the relationship with our Berlin Works Council (Betriebsrat). This is an opportunity to build a modern, high-trust partnership that mirrors Vinted’s fast-paced tech culture and values. You will ensure our growth is supported and empowered by simple, efficient labour processes. You will also act as a coordinator for Works Council communications that require alignment across France, the Netherlands, and Lithuania.

Please note, this is a one-year fix-term role.

In this position, you’ll

  • Berlin Works Council relations ownership: Prepare and lead consultations and negotiations (§ 99, § 102, § 87 BetrVG). You will be responsible for the drafting and lifecycle management of individual, general and social matters hearings, as well as works agreements (Betriebsvereinbarungen).
  • Process improvement: Audit and optimize our Works Council-related workflows. You will improve current and establish simple, user-friendly and efficient workflows, templates and processes that support Vinted’s scale and high pace.
  • Strategic Foresight: Maintain a proactive approach on German labour law developments. You will anticipate legal trends (e.g., AI regulation, remote work mandates) and mitigate risks before they impact business operations.
  • Stakeholder Advisory: You provide advisory support to managers and HR teams on all issues relating to co-determination and you are the central contact person for works council-related topics.
  • Cross-country Coordination: Act as the coordinator for WoCo-related communications in the Netherlands, France, and Lithuania, for those matters that require cross-country alignment. While you are not the local labour relations expert, you will ensure consistency in messaging and track progress on international projects.
  • Employee Relations Support: When needed, provide support and manage Employee Relations (ER) cases. You will support the resolution of grievances, absence, performance or disciplinary matters, ensuring outcomes are compliant and culturally aligned.

About you

  • Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in German labour relations and in the field of employment law, preferably within a high-growth or international tech environment. You bring best-in-class practices in embedding HR processes seamlessly into a Works Council environment, leveraging tech solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Robust knowledge of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG) and general employment statutes.
  • Influencing & Negotiation: You are able to navigate conflicting interests. You can influence stakeholders without formal authority and have experience in negotiating with employee representatives (works council/ trade unions) to reach pragmatic, win-win solutions.
  • Operational Excellence: You are a self-starter who identifies process gaps and implements solutions independently. You thrive on turning ambiguity into structured workflows.
  • Global Mindset: You are a skilled communicator capable of coordinating with diverse teams across different Countries.
  • Fluency: Professional fluency in German (legal/negotiation level) and English (Vinted’s business language) is essential.
