About The Opportunity

As an Associate Kitchen Designer, you will play a vital role in supporting our Engineering Design and Procurement teams in the seamless execution of our projects. You will be deeply involved in the review, verification, and administrative process of our designs, ensuring that our plans are accurate and our procurement pipeline is efficient.

In this role, you will be responsible for the detailed review of critical design documents and templates, including Kitchen Equipment test fit drawings, IT Equipment plan checks against templates, electrical busway system drawing checks, and BOH Layout drawing checks. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including 3rd party architects, senior engineers, and external vendors. Your contributions will be critical in maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency by reviewing quotes, inputting data into our database, and submitting approved quotes to contracts.

The Impact You Will Make

  • Review Back of House (BOH) layout drawings to verify they align with operational workflows and design standards.

  • Conduct detailed checks of IT Equipment plans to ensure they strictly match company templates and specifications.

  • Review Electrical Busway System drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Work with the lead designer on the creation and updates to Revit templates.

  • Accurately input and maintain technical specifications, drawing revisions, and quote details into the company database.

  • Assist senior engineers and project managers with document control and other related tasks as needed.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, architecture or interior design (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems) or a related technical field (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems).

  • Proficiency with drafting kitchen layouts in Revit (preferred), AutoCAD, or other technical drawing software

  • Experience with making comments and markups in BlueBeam is a plus.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layout plans, and schematics.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

  • High level of proficiency with Google Suite products: Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Slides.

  • Experience with database entry and management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous internship or 1+ year of experience in an architecture or kitchen design role.

  • Basic understanding of procurement or quote review processes.

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.

New York: $108,000

Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
