You’ll be seen as an integral part of the Finance team and the month-end related processes. You will be required to obtain a thorough understanding of the Xero business environment and will assist in ensuring Xero meets the accounting requirements that arise by virtue of being a listed issuer. You will build strong relationships throughout the business and become a trusted advisor to the Finance team and the business in general.
What you'll do...
- Support the wider team over month end and half year/annual reporting cycles, including processing journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Take initiative, driving change and improvements across the team and wider functions - particularly leveraging finance systems (including in the month end close process).
- Review and understand the wider functions/P&L, and analyse financial results and identify trends and anomalies, with reasoning behind this.
- Develop an excellent understanding of finance systems, including Netsuite, Blackline and Xero.
- Participate in significant corporate or company-wide finance projects and initiatives.
- Complete daily bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving identified differences.

Experience you will bring with you...
- Around two years experience in an accounting based role.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting standards.
- Track record of process improvement.
- Google sheets/excel experience.
