How you’ll make an impact:
As an SEM Specialist sitting within the Global SEM Team and part of the Global Performance Marketing Team, you will play a key role in driving Xero’s business performance. You will be instrumental in growing our subscriber base through a mix of programmes and initiatives, driven through Paid Search optimisation, to support the acquisition and growth of direct small business subscribers and Accountant and Bookkeeper partners around the world.
You will make an impact by accelerating Xero’s growth through excellence in paid search bidding, optimisation, innovation, data driven thinking and proactive collaboration with the broader digital team.

What you'll do:

  • Analyse daily performance against targets and make adjustments as required
  • Maintain SEM efficiency thresholds across Google / Bing based on predefined modeling
  • Execute testing programmes (eg. ad copy, bidding) as required
  • Manage & update campaigns in collaboration with technical projects and Marketing Tech teams
  • Deliver quarterly ROI projections & modeling for growth forecasting / internal comms
  • Produce regular reporting eg. pivot tables, analysis & well written commentary
  • Collaborate with wider performance marketing team (eg. Creative Testing, SEO) as necessary
  • Interface with supplier teams to extract first-mover opportunities, alphas & betas
  • Constantly challenge the status quo to discover new growth opportunities
  • Support wider SEM team on new growth initiatives and annual project roadmap

What you'll bring with you:

  • 2+ years of paid search experience
  • Thorough knowledge of paid search advertising platforms such as Google Ads, SA360 & Bing
  • Experience working on large, global search campaigns & campaign optimisation
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis with hands on experience with A/B testing, multivariate testing, and statistical analysis
  • A passion for digital marketing & technology trends with a disciplined, curious mindset
  • An understanding of performance marketing disciplines such as SEO, paid social & display, email & lifecycle marketing
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment and work/collaborate on several projects at once
