How you’ll make an impact
Our GM, People Experience (PX) Partnering - Business Services & PX Advisory will serve as both a direct Business Partner to senior leaders and a leader of teams providing Business Partnering and Advisory services across the business. You will report directly to the Chief People Officer and sit on the Global PX Leadership team, playing an important role to develop, embed and deliver on our global People strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Provide strategic Business Partnering support to the Chief Business Operations & Strategy Officer and lead the Business Partners supporting the CFO, CLO and their leadership teams.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Head of PX Advisory who leads Xero’s centralised team of talented PX Advisors distributed across NZ, AU, UK, and the Americas. This team ensures that world class support is delivered to our ‘customers’ - Xero employees, people leaders and the wider PX team.
  • Work closely with the other GMs of PX Partnering to ensure strong collaboration and communication to align with a ‘one team’ approach across all of Partnering. Together you will evolve and drive our strategic business partnering objectives, ensuring that consistent and impactful people programs are delivered in alignment with the global people strategy.
  • Collaborate with your peers in PX Center of Excellence teams (OD, Remuneration, Workplace), working as one team seamlessly across our global locations and with our global PX team embodying ‘we make it together’.
  • Identify the unique skills and development opportunities across your team to ensure they are working to demonstrate or role model the capabilities in our PX Capability Framework.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Business Operations & Strategy (BOS) Officer providing ongoing support & guidance with all aspects of the people experience inclusive of talent management, annual team calibration, organisational design, restructures, and much more.
  • Support complex, sensitive and/or high risk ER issues when required.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of employment legislation and practices, advising on risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal team/external lawyers as needed/required.
  • Utilize data to strategically analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the team to develop solutions, programs and policies aligned to priorities.
  • Working closely with our Talent teams you will ensure recruitment priorities are met and drive workforce planning for your portfolio.
  • Ensure COEs have an understanding of priorities in the Business Services portfolios and work in partnership to ensure programs and resources are developed that are relevant and timely.
  • Build a positive employee experience that empowers Xeros to thrive and leads to improved business performance.
  • Play an important role across the PXP function to test, experiment and improve how we work inline with our PX Transformation and team evolutions.
  • Support the Chief People Officer as needed.
  • Proactively understand and manage risks as they relate to your role.
  • Proactively understand and manage compliance and regulatory obligations for your areas of responsibility.

What you’ll bring with you

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, covering the broad generalist spectrum of HR within fast paced, high performing organisations.
  • Experience developing people related strategies and plans to achieve business outcomes.
  • Success in developing & leading high performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of multiple HR disciplines, including remuneration practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and relevant employment legislation.
  • Experience working with and coaching senior executive stakeholders on complex people issues.
  • Degree, Post Graduate or equivalent work experience

  • Communicates effectively - Takes steps to create forums where people can express themselves openly and regularly. Delivers messages effectively to groups ranging from direct reports to senior executives. Explains strategic / major initiatives in a candid, timely, and appropriate manner.
