As a Global Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in navigating the complex legal landscapes that come with global scale. You will provide strategic advice that enables the business to grow safely and sustainably, ensuring our products and services comply with international standards while supporting our mission to help small businesses thrive.

This position is about more than just managing risk; it is about finding creative solutions to intricate problems. You will shape the legal frameworks that underpin our global operations, making a tangible impact on our ability to innovate by providing clear, commercial, and actionable guidance.

The team / how they connect

You will join a collaborative global legal team that prides itself on being a proactive partner to the business rather than a gatekeeper. We work closely across all departments, from product development to partnerships, ensuring that legal strategy is woven into the fabric of our commercial goals.

The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on

• Managing complex negotiations with strategic partners, including global technology players, for product enablement, financial services and revenue-sharing arrangements.

• Supporting our product and technology teams with the design and launch of AI-powered products and features.

• Advising on evolving consumer, financial services and regulatory requirements across multiple global jurisdictions.

• Enhancing internal legal efficiency through the adoption of AI-related automation tools and streamlined workflow projects

Here are some of the things we are looking for

• 7+ years PQE (in-house legal experience desirable)

• You bring significant experience in providing commercial legal advice within a fast-paced technology or SaaS environment.

• You bring a solutions-focused approach to legal risk, with a knack for finding smart, commercial paths forward.

• You possess a natural ability to build trust and influence with senior stakeholders, including GMs and functional leads, across a fast-paced global structure.

• Your background in complex commercial negotiations allows you to navigate intricate deals with confidence and professional maturity.

• You have a proven track record of operating within an in-house environment, demonstrating the rhythm, pace, and business partnering skills required to thrive, and a drive to continuously improve legal processes.

• You are an excellent communicator who can translate highly complex legal information into clear, actionable advice for non-legal audiences.

• You hold a valid practising certificate in Australia or New Zealand and maintain a commitment to professional growth and technical mastery.
