About Tessian

Tessian builds technology to empower people to work safely, without security getting in their way.

Job Description

Tessian protects every business’s mission by securing the human layer

We're building intelligent security that works for human beings as they are, not how security policies would like them to be. Using machine learning technology, Tessian automatically predicts and eliminates advanced threats on email caused by human error - like data exfiltration, accidental data loss, business email compromise and phishing attacks - with minimal disruption to employees' workflow. As a result, employees are empowered to do their best work, without security getting in their way.

Founded in 2013, Tessian is backed by renowned investors like Sequoia, Accel and Balderton and has hubs in San Francisco, Boston, and London.

Tessian

Having found exceptional product/market fit for our category-defining Human Layer Security platform, we’re in the midst of transitioning from 'start-up' to ‘scale-up’ and looking for a Global Head of Sales Operations & Strategy to take our go-to-market execution to the next level.

Funded by VCs such as Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, we’re building out our commercial presence in new markets and geographies and are looking for passionate entrepreneurs, builders, and straight-up hustlers to help us build something special. You’ll be an accomplished Sales Operations Leader, and you will oversee GTM strategy, and directly partner with the VP of Global Sales & broader executive team to build durable commercial teams, processes and systems to help us accelerate as effectively as possible. You’ll be working alongside our co-founder & CEO, VP of Global Sales, CMO and local sales teams.

You’ll have a career-defining role in creating a world-class company. We don’t pretend that it’ll be easy - joining us and embarking on the scale-up phase is an amazing challenge, pushing well beyond the boundaries of natural growth cycles.

You’ll move quicker than feels comfortable, and be brilliant at continually re-prioritizing what must get done to keep Tessian growing year over year at the pace of the fastest growing SaaS companies in history.

Sales Operations

Tessian is looking for a Sales Operations Leader to build out our GTM strategy, processes and tools as we continue to scale. We believe effective and strategic Sales Ops lies at the center of every hyper growth business. We want to find someone who shares this vision and has the acumen and passion to play a pivotal role at a really exciting time in our growth.

Please note: we are unable to offer US Visa sponsorship

In this role, you’ll get to:

Develop a sales ops team identity that partners closely with business leaders whilst knowing how and when to hold them accountable
Hire and develop an operations team of inquisitive, data-driven individuals who strive for excellence in everything they do
Build a repeatable operational playbook that will arm our sales teams with the tools, data and incentive structures they need to keep accelerating revenue growth
Work on territory design and modeling, sales systems and tools, segmentation analysis, compensation plan design, revenue forecasting and much more
Operate cross-functionally to establish operational priorities which will have the biggest impact on the business’ growth
Shape how we think about sales talent and how and where we build out teams

We'd love to meet someone who:

Is a proven partner to GTM leaders who knows when to support and when to challenge
Is opinionated about tools and has a track record of making process improvements with tangible results
Cares deeply about data and detail as well as strategy and vision
Has 8+ years of business/sales operations and/or strategy as an operator or consultant
Thinks differently and knows when to follow a playbook that’s served them well and when to innovate and create something completely new
Loves to spend time analyzing the data, looking for trends and ‘aha!’ moments
Has TedTalk-like communication skills - we’re an increasingly globally dispersed team and need to stay connected

Why we think you'll love it here:

You’ll work alongside amazing, high-performing colleague, and have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of starting up a new office of a fast-growth, Sequoia-&-Accel-backed technology company
        Great startup culture
We offer a competitive salary, with 50/50 base/bonus OTE, negotiable based on experience and equity options with every role, with annual salary reviews
Compensation is negotiable based on targets for those with prior sales experience.
Everyone gets 25 days of paid holiday leave a year (15 days of paid vacation plus 10 paid federal holiday days)
Flexible working hours and work from home policies including flexibility for parents and caregivers
We offer three tiers of plans, with the lowest tier of Aetna health insurance 100% paid for by Tessian (no employee contribution required), with a $0 in-network deductible.
        401K Company Match: 100% of first 1% and 50% of next 5%
You’ll get a high quality MacOS tech kit to work on including laptop, phone and peripheral accessories
One week of remote working from abroad per year
Monthly fitness subsidy of $60 towards ClassPass
If you’re coming from far away, we’ll provide relocation assistance. Over 25% of the global company is international and we are always as supportive as we can be in helping people make the move. Please note however that we are unable to sponsor US visas.

Why we think you'll love it here

All Tessians are part of the journey we’re on, so we offer equity options with every role and benchmark against other VC-backed companies to provide above market rate salaries for companies of our size.

Beyond this, there’s plenty more that makes Tessian a great place to work:

A full week of work-remote a year (for those who aren't fully remote!), in addition to 31 days of paid holiday (20 days PTO + 11 federal holidays)
An extra day of paid holiday (up to 5) for every year you're with us!
Curate your career with development experiences uniquely suited to you
We’re family friendly, with policies built to support you in all stages of life
High-quality MacOs tech kit for you to work on
Comprehensive & generous health insurance options
If you're relocating to join the team in person, we'll provide a contribution to help with your costs
On Fridays we stop at 5 for a virtual happy hour (or, to just log off early!)
Classpass subsidy - which you can use for either in person or virtual classes

Coronavirus has changed how we work, and we’re currently working from home. During these times we’re supporting our team with:

A work-from-home subsidy for every new joiner to cover all your home office must-haves
Amazing Remote socials with food and drink budgets

And there’s plenty to look forward to once we’re back in the office too (we expect to have an East-coast (Boston) & West-coast (San Francisco) office presence:

An array of breakfast options, delicious snacks, drinks and a top-of-the-range coffee machine
Flexible work from home policy (for those who aren't already fully remote)
Team lunch provided once a week
Whole team socials every quarter
Dinner budget for those times you just can’t tear yourself away
