About Monzo

At Monzo, we’re building a new kind of bank. One that lives on your smartphone and built for the way you live today. By solving your problems, treating you fairly and being totally transparent, we believe we can make banking better.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and proactive PA to support our VP Fincrime, VP Customer Operations & GM Fincrime Products & Platform as they lead our teams in the journey towards becoming the best possible bank.

You will be working alongside our existing EA and PA team who have helped to shape and define what great support looks like at Monzo.

Monzo & why your role is essential:

Building and running Monzo involves an interesting tension between moving fast (as we’re a tech company) and having structured governance (we’re a highly regulated bank).

You’ll help our leaders to optimise the way they use their time and ensure that they’re focussing on the highest impact activities, amplifying the impact they have in leading Monzo to achieve our sky-high ambitions. Ability to adapt communication styles is essential to this role to achieve a person-centred approach in support. You'll be essential in ensuring great relationships are built in and out of Monzo.

What you’ll be spending your time doing:

Administration: Ensuring that diaries are free from clashes and our leaders have enough time outside of meetings to complete important work, implementing processes for the team, taking basic minutes and action points when required. Any other administrative duties required by your leaders.

Prioritisation: Ensuring that the diary runs like clockwork and meeting clashes are cleared up promptly, acting as a friendly gatekeeper, obtaining a clear agenda for requested meetings and ensuring it’s an appropriate length. You’ll also be quickly able to pivot the diary to ensure that urgent meetings are accommodated.

Preparation: Supporting leaders with their important weekly meetings, confirming agenda’s with your leader and distributing reading materials if required, creating meeting slide decks when needed and helping to pull together key documents.

Correspondence: Diving into their inbox regularly to clear out any unwanted emails or spam and proactively flagging important emails that require their attention. Being the first point of contact for people within Monzo who require time with your leaders and helping to accommodate this time.

Logistics: Arranging transport and accommodation when required, ensuring that meeting rooms are booked and ready for meetings when we’re able to go back to the office, assisting with collective level all hands meetings and team away days, planning and facilitating team events.

You’ll also need to manage your own time to determine how to most effectively support the team, and how to prioritise their different needs. There will also be opportunities to get involved in project work and other initiatives across the business that interest you.

Apply if:

  • You have experience working as a PA previously within a fast paced environment with ever changing priorities
  • You have previous experience using Google suite & Slack (preferred)
  • You’re exceptionally attentive to detail and incredibly organised
  • You’re a quick learner, and ask incisive questions to gather the context you need
  • You are proactive and can work autonomously
  • You have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to write and adapt style to different voices and audiences
  • You have extensive experience working with g-suite and slack
  • You are hands-on: focussed on execution, removing ambiguity, comfortable making and acting on decisions as well as able to take on information quickly and acting on it
  • You’d love to learn about running a high-growth business and are excited about joining Monzo’s journey

We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, at times that suit you and your team.

Diversity and inclusion is a priority for us – if we want to solve problems for people around the world, our team has to represent our customers. So we need to attract the best talent and create an environment that supports and includes them. You can read more about diversity and inclusion on our blog.

If you prefer to work part-time, we'll make this happen whenever we can - whether this is to help you meet other commitments or strike a great work-life balance.

ℹ️ The application process consists of a 30mins phone call with a recruiter, an initial call with someone from the team, followed by a practical written exercise and 2-3 interviews carried out remotely via hangouts. We promise not to ask you any brain teasers or trick questions.

This role is best suited to someone that is able to spend the majority of the week in our London office.

Applications close Monday 14th June
