We are looking for a Data Scientist we can count on to:

  • Design and interpret experiments to measure the impact of Searchlight’s talent intelligence software on retention and performance

  • Partner with our engineering, product, customer success, and sales teams to identify key questions and answer them with data

  • Run impactful inferential analyses and data investigations to identify recurring patterns, root causes, and propose actionable product solutions

  • Automate and streamline data analysis

  • Organize, clean, and combine structured and unstructured data from a variety of different sources and identify data quality improvements

  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and presentation of data to develop visually compelling and informative reports and dashboards

  • Communicate analyses and data-backed recommendations to stakeholders

  • Championing a data-first approach toward decision-making across the entire organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of industry experience in a Data Science or Data Analytics role

  • Expertise in solving complex and highly impactful quantitative business problems with Python or R

  • Deep understanding of various statistical techniques and experimentation analysis workflows  

  • Strong familiarity with SQL, data visualization tools, and working knowledge of Python

  • Data engineering experience, data pipeline tooling, and software automation experience is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or a closely related field

  • Industry experience in the HR and People Analytics space supporting initiatives related to HR, Talent Acquisition, Employee Retention, etc. is a plus

Success Profile:

  • Excels in problem solving, critical thinking, and systems thinking

  • Strong writer and verbal communicator to internal and external audiences, with proven ability to influence and communicate effectively

  • Self-starter and fast learner, especially in ambiguity; you’ll need to define your own role at times and fill in gaps wherever needed
