About the role:
The Senior Compliance Analyst, will play a vital role in managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions issues and processes, focussing on Japan and the APAC region. They will have a good understanding of local Japanese AML and MOF Sanctions requirements, and be able to operate independently as part of the global Zepz compliance team.
Please note proficiency in both written and spoken Japanese and English is required for this role.

What you will own:
Reporting to the Country Compliance Officer, you will:
- Monitoring/QA of initial and on-going Know Your Customers (eKYC) requirements for Japan-send transactions.
- Customer Profile Maintenance including KYC Renewal and Exit Control
- Responsible for Daily Japan Alert to Transaction Monitoring and Enhanced Due Diligence
- Investigate and Analysis of customer activities, by communicating with customers on the telephone/email to meet the WR ongoing customer due diligence requirements and obligations and relevant regulations.
- Escalate issues to the Country Compliance Officer with results of investigation and Analysis.
- Performing daily tasks—reviewing reports, preparing necessary correspondence, and participating in Japan Compliance projects.
- Sanction Screening timely when a new designated list is released from the authorities.
- Attending to escalations of Sanction/PEP Screening and matches.
- Escalating any suspicious customer activity/concerns to the Compliance Officer.
- Assist with any other Compliance related matters or projects as identified and assigned by the Compliance Officer.
- Assist in reviewing post TM escalations received from LOD1.
- STR (Suspicious Transaction Report) Draft preparation to JAFIC/JFSA (JP-FIU).
What you bring to the table:
- AML/KYC Experiences for 2-3 years for global financial institutions.
- AML Qualification (Training Program is available @Zepz).
- Business-level Japanese & English language ability
- Proactively to learn new or updated items in global and local regulations.
- Ability to translate Japanese regulatory documents (J2E) for internal use materials.
- Proactively involved in FinTech oriented Compliance systems.
