Altinity is hiring a Sales Engineer to efficiently and intelligently onboard and educate our clients. We’re looking for a skilled professional to join our team and support the growing demand from our sales organization.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for securing the technical win and guiding prospects throughout their evaluation and selection process.

We’re seeking a strong database expert who is customer-focused and results-driven — someone motivated to evangelize open-source ClickHouse technology, onboard and train new customers, and expand revenue opportunities with existing ones.

Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience with open-source technologies and a passion for helping customers succeed.

Responsibilities:
  • Support our sales team during the customer trial process: demos, presentations, solution tailoring by ingesting customers data and working on it with SQL
  • Manage communications between the customer and various internal Altinity Teams
  • Manage and prioritize multiple paralel sales engagements with touch points in Engineering, Security and Legal.
  • Engage new and existing accounts to identify and build relationships with decision makers.
  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction across assigned set of accounts (no less than 40).
  • Prioritize customer needs and coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams to help customers be successful with ClickHouse and our Managed Database offering (Altinity.Cloud).
  • Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in Database engineer / systems architect / sales engineer roles working for companies in SaaS, Open Source or Enterprise Software.
  • Strong background in analytic database and technologies (ClickHouse a strong plus)
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes and hands-on experience with deployment
  • Hands-on experience with system administration and devops procedures for system deployment
  • Successful customer-facing technical sales experience
  • Experience in managing B2B relations with a track record of steadily increasing responsibility in sales or customer growth
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools
  • Ability to perform market and relevant technical research
  • Ability to develop and use solution-based, consultative sales techniques
  • Experience in leading a discussion with a group of Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives
  • Enthusiasm for working in a high profile, fast-paced startup culture.
  • Ready to travel for business when necessary
What You’ll do:

Our customers are some of the largest and most exciting companies, and you will work closely with both their technology and business teams to scope out and implement onboarding projects. You will work closely with our CEO and the Head of Sales to prove the power of the platform to new clients. You’ll also get exposure to the inner workings of a rapidly growing organization. You will have opportunities to contribute ideas to the direction of our team and participate in the various initiatives that will drive our growth.
Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with our customers’ technical staff
  • Drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for Altinity’s products and services
  • Running in-depth demos to CTOs, Engineers, and Executives.
  • Work closely with the technical members of our various partners to ensure their success with customers and prospects
  • Assist the product team in requirements gathering for new integrations and features

This is a full-time position and includes equity in the company. Altinity is venture-funded and financially stable. We are 100% remote. You may work anywhere you have work permits, though we prefer candidates from North America or Europe.
