Sales Director
Altinity
Altinity is looking for an experienced, results-driven Sales Director to handle sales of our popular Altinity.Cloud and Enterprise Support offerings in the North American market. Ideal candidates will bring extensive success in selling enterprise database products into competitive markets. In addition to selling, this job includes management with the opportunity to build out your own team. This is a highly technical role that requires good understanding of database systems.
Requirements:
- Handle deals from prospect stage to close to renewal within region. Upselling is a key part of the job since successful accounts tend to start small and grow very large over time.
- Work closely with sales engineering and support engineers to schedule demos, present architectural solutions and coordinate onboarding of closed customers.
- Build and execute on strategies to identify new prospects from Altinity events as well cold lead pools.
- Prepare and maintain accurate forecasts for region using Hubspot, coordinate crisp delivery of contracts, and clear customer procurement processes.
- Coordinate with Altinity teams to solve blockers quickly and efficiently.
- Handle hiring, management, and mentoring of new team members.
- Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding on-the-ground user requirements and pricing.
- Help determine overall sales strategy.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success in enterprise sales involving complex database products in very competitive markets.
- Experience with open source-based products as well as strategies & tactics to sell into open source communities.
- Strong understanding of enterprise database usage, including ability to pinpoint user needs and quickly connect them to solutions.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams consisting of sales engineering, support, product engineering, and administration.
- Outstanding people skills including communication audiences ranging from CEOs to in-the-trenches developers.
- Experience hiring and managing sales teams
- Enthusiasm for working in a high profile, fast-paced startup culture, including coming up to speed quickly and working independently.
- Ready to travel for business when necessary, focusing on North America (visa/US citizenship required)
- A dogged desire to get the deal done

This is a full-time position and includes equity in the company. Altinity is venture-funded and financially stable.
We are 100% remote. You may work anywhere you have work permits, though we prefer candidates from North America.
