The Venue Sourcing Specialist is part of our dedicated resource team and dedicated to specific clients for the main purpose of supporting the client’s global meetings and event management strategy, particularly supporting the client’s Strategic Meeting Management venue procurement process. This is accomplished by exercising an expert-level of product knowledge to ensure clients can realize the full benefits of Cvent’s software, which will include process adherence, contract compliance management, and negotiation.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Conduct hotel sourcing through Cvent Supplier Network and provide availability reports to meeting sponsor and/or the meeting planner
  • Verify program specifications on a program by program basis with the meeting sponsor/planner
  • Act as the key liaison with the meeting sponsor/planner and hotel suppliers
  • Negotiate best possible rates and program concessions, leverage client supplier relationships, and utilize processes and procedures outlined in client agreements
  • Responsible for collecting pickup reports and final spend data from hotels
  • Track cost savings and cost avoidance
  • Deliver first class customer service in line with clients’ objectives.
  • Work flexible hours to support a global account / team (this may sometimes include other work outside the standard work day or on weekends or conference calls)
  • Other duties as assigned

Here's What You Need:

  • Minimum 5 years of Corporate Meeting/Event Management experience required; 3 years of group sourcing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of destinations, hotels, other meeting/event venues, destination management companies, and other meeting and event suppliers
  • Working knowledge of e-RFP management tool
  • Cvent Venue Sourcing certification preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel specific to data management
  • Strong organizational & time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and additional responsibilities while maintaining high quality standards
  • Strong communication skills through all mediums with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Proven problem solving, negotiation, and project management skills
  • Proven analytical skills with consistent high attention to detail; accuracy in spelling and grammar
  • Personal integrity, initiative
  • Strong sense of accountability; resourcefulness in identifying a problem or process improvement and following through to implement
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a demanding environment
  • Experience using Reposit is a plus
  • University Degree or equivalent event management experience
