In This Role, You Will:

Cvent acquired venuedirectory.com in 2022. venuedirectory.com has been established for over 20 years, providing electronic, interactive venue data to corporate and agency buyers of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events. Operating multiple business channels – including web-based venue directories and a booking platform it offers event planners access to the largest data center of venue information for the UK MICE industry, with hundreds of thousands of venues across 170+ countries and powerful search, enquiry, booking, and reporting tools

Role Overview

As a Senior Sales Development Representative for Venue Directory, you will play a critical role in driving new business pipeline and deepening engagement with key venue and agency accounts across the UK and EMEA. You’ll serve as the first point of contact for many of our prospective customers, combining commercial acumen, curiosity, and product knowledge to create high-quality opportunities for the sales team.

In this senior position, you will also help shape our outbound strategy, support campaign execution, and act as a role model within the SDR team by sharing best practices and contributing to a high-performance, high-integrity sales culture.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as the first point of contact for prospective Venue Directory customers and partners, providing compelling insights and product information tailored to their business needs.
  • Prospect and generate pipeline by identifying, engaging, and nurturing new contacts through phone, email, social, and other innovative outbound methods.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads using structured discovery and probing techniques to understand requirements, buying centres, timelines, and fit.
  • Manage and grow key accounts in partnership with senior sales colleagues, helping to strengthen relationships with C-level executives and other senior stakeholders.
  • Drive attendance and engagement at Cvent and Venue Directory webinars, seminars, and online product demonstrations, ensuring prospects are well prepared and highly engaged.
  • Support marketing campaigns by executing follow-up plays and sharing feedback from the field.
  • Research accounts and contacts using internal tools and external sources to build targeted lists.
  • Prepare high-quality materials including introductory decks, proposals, and summary notes that help advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Analyse and report on performance, pulling reports, interpreting data, and sharing insights on what’s working across sequences, messaging, and segments.
  • Partner closely with the senior sales team to help achieve new business and upsell quotas, collaborating on territory plans and account strategies.

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in B2B lead generation, sales development, or inside sales, ideally in technology, SaaS, hospitality, meetings & events, or related industries.
  • Proven success in high-volume outbound prospecting, with strong cold-calling, email, and social selling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong sense of initiative and personal leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve shared goals and contribute to collective success.
  • High business acumen, ethics, and integrity, with a genuine focus on delivering value to prospects and customers.
  • Talent for developing relationships over the phone and video, building rapport quickly and asking thoughtful, consultative questions.
  • Ability to handle a high outbound call and activity volume while maintaining quality conversations and accurate CRM hygiene.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple accounts, tasks, and follow-ups in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM/sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, outreach/sequence tools).
