TL;DR: We're hiring a People Operations Lead to drive and scale the systems, processes, and operating rhythms that keep Lovable moving fast as we grow across Sweden, the UK, the US, and beyond. You’ll manage and develop a regional People Ops team, own HRIS, payroll, compliance, employee lifecycle workflows, and contractor risk, and build the documentation, reporting, automation, and AI-native self-service foundations that make People Ops clear, reliable, and easy to navigate at scale.

The Role
As the People Operations Lead you’ll lead and develop the existing People Ops specialists, own the systems and processes that hold the function together (HRIS, payroll, compliance, contractor risk), and build the durable operating mechanisms, documentation, reporting, and self-service workflows that let Lovable keep moving fast.
We’re an AI-native company, and we want our People team to be AI-native too. That means using AI to thoughtfully scale service delivery, improve data quality, reduce manual work, and make great decisions faster — while keeping a high bar for privacy, compliance, and employee trust.
This role combines scaled systems thinking, operational excellence, data rigor, compliance judgment, and a high-quality employee experience. You’ll be the first dedicated leader of this function who builds a consistent global People Ops model across regions.
What You'll Own
Lead the Global People Ops team — manage and develop the regional People Ops specialists (Sweden, UK, Americas), moving the function from individual coverage to leader-led, cross-regionally consistent delivery.
Own the employee lifecycle operating model — iterate and maintain seamless, scalable workflows across onboarding, job changes, internal mobility, leave, offboarding, employee data, and recurring People processes so employees and managers experience People Ops as clear, reliable, and easy to navigate.
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance oversight — ensure clear subject-matter ownership per jurisdiction (Sweden, UK, US) while driving consistency in how the function operates across all of them; build audit-ready documentation, controls, and reporting that can stand up to enterprise-grade scrutiny.
HR Systems & People Engineering — own HRIS strategy end-to-end (HiBob and adjacent tooling), including evaluation, implementation, integrations, data integrity, automation, access controls, and ongoing systems design, in partnership with the team’s People Engineer — and drive an AI-ready foundation (clean data, clear definitions, controlled access) that enables safe AI workflows.
Process, playbook & self-service design — replace ad hoc, “whoever sees it, does it” iterate our operations coverage with clear ownership, documented playbooks, intuitive self-service, and predictable, well-coordinated delivery — including AI-assisted self-service (where appropriate) so employees and managers can get answers fast without losing the human touch when it matters.
What We're Looking For
10+ years in People/HR Operations, including real experience leading and developing People Ops specialists, not just doing the work solo.
Experience at an AI-native or fast-scaling tech company (or a clear point of view on what it means to run an AI-native People Ops function).
Direct experience owning multi-country payroll, benefits, and compliance; Sweden, UK, and US experience is a strong plus given Lovable's footprint.
A track record designing scalable People Ops systems and processes in a high-growth environment, moving a function from ad hoc to structured.
Balances speed with rigor: can move quickly in ambiguity while building the controls, documentation, and quality bar needed for scale — including privacy-by-design, role-based access, and safe AI usage standards.
