Head of Human Resource

Location: Kolkata

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Human Resources to lead our HR department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives. As the Head of HR, you will play a key role in fostering a positive work culture, enhancing employee engagement, and driving organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

HR Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive work culture and enhance employee morale and satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Talent Acquisition & Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR administration.
  • Lead the recruitment process, including talent acquisition, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent across various departments.
  • Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop workforce planning strategies.
  • Develop and implement employee retention strategies to minimize turnover and enhance employee loyalty.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.

HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations and keep abreast of changes in HR best practices.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and insights and make data-driven decisions to optimize HR processes and initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement organizational development initiatives to support business growth and scalability.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on all HR-related matters.

Required Skills:

  • 10-12 years of work experience in the Human Resources domain, with at least 5-6 years in a leadership role.
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that drive business results.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people.
  • Strong interpersonal, influence, communication, change management and business partnership skills
  • Significant knowledge of HR policies and processes (e.g., performance management, talent management, engagement, employee relations, workforce planning, change management etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop a diverse team of HR professionals.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future HR needs and develop proactive solutions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage HR metrics and data to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are essential, preferably a start up.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive work culture and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Experience working with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field from a reputed institute.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
