Every day, the world gets more digital thanks to tens of millions of developers building the future faster than ever. But with exponential growth comes exponential risk, as outnumbered security teams struggle to secure mountains of code. This is where Snyk (pronounced “sneak”) comes in. Snyk is a developer security platform that makes it easy for development teams to find, prioritize, and fix security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure — and do it all right from the start. Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.

Joining Snyk means embracing our core values: One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment where fostering collaboration, leading with empathy, driving business impact, and inspiring trust are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Opportunity

Today Snyk runs across two cloud providers, with a mix of multi-tenant and single-tenant environments as well as regional instances. We constantly need to balance flexibility, consistency and cost, but need to do that without passing all that complexity on to our engineering teams. With 1000s of happy SaaS customers and 100s of in-house software engineers, Snyk needs rock solid cloud infrastructure, and great internal developer tooling to support it.

To that end, we are looking for a Director of Product Management for our Infrastructure group. Reporting to the VP of Product Management for Platform Engineering, this role will manage a small team of product managers responsible for observability, cloud architecture, improving operational processes and practices, SRE, our internal developer platform and experience and more.

The role needs someone who loves serving internal customers - your main customers will be our internal R&D teams, as well as colleagues in finance, procurement, IT, legal and compliance. But you’ll also work with some of Snyk’s largest customers on understanding and serving their security, compliance and assurance needs at the lowest levels of our stack.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Helping to ensure the Stability of Snyk. You’ll work to help ensure we understand the causes of instability, and are prioritising work (within the Infrastructure group and across Snyk) to address it in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improving the Security of Snyk. Working with our internal security teams to understand the evolving threats and helping to prioritize and advocate for work that addresses them.
  • Embedding the processes that help us control Infrastructure Costs as we grow. Helping to embed FinOps practices and establish processes that aid in mature cost controls, without limiting exploration or usage of on-demand infrastructure.
  • Providing a great Developer Experience to our internal engineering teams. Talking with and researching the day-to-day problems of our engineering teams, and proposing and testing solutions to improve our engineering efficiency.
  • Working closely with engineering leaders and engineers. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Director for the Infrastructure group, and their team of engineering managers and engineers.

What You’ll Need:

  • Have a passion for operations. Devops, SRE, service management, and incident response should all be topics you have an interest and experience in.
  • Want to work in a high growth, fast moving environment. Snyk is a late-stage startup. We’ve come a long way, but still have lots of work to do. At the same time our customer base, and the load on our infrastructure, is growing rapidly.
  • Have experience and deep knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure. You should be familiar with Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure, continuous integration and deployment, observability tooling and internal developer platforms.

Love data and data exploration. You should have experience with using rich data to tell stories and encourage action.

  • Have experience working across timezones. While around half of the Infrastructure group is based in the UK, a quarter is in the US or Canada, and the other quarter in Europe. You’ll need to work well in a globally distributed environment.
  • Have people management experience. You’ll have a small team of product managers and part of the role is to help them grow their careers and skills at Snyk.
