Position Summary
The Mid-Market Account Executive owns the full sales cycle for mid-market accounts (companies under 1,000 employees), from prospecting through close. This is a hunter role focused on closing net-new business. You'll combine your outbound skills with consultative selling to help sales leaders understand how Ava can transform their team's productivity and performance.
You'll be supported by a Sales Development Rep (SDR), enabling high-volume outbound activity. Your ability to strategically direct and collaborate with your SDR will be critical to building consistent pipeline.
The ideal candidate has cut their teeth in an SDR or BDR role and has taken the next step to owning a quota, running discovery, leading evaluations, and closing deals. You're comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building something new, and skilled at elevating conversations from features to business outcomes.
This position reports to the VP of Sales & Solutions and is fully remote within the United States, with preference for candidates located near a major metro area.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and manage your own pipeline through outbound prospecting including cold calling, email sequences, LinkedIn outreach, and creative engagement tactics
Strategically leverage your SDR to drive high-volume outbound activity, providing clear targeting direction, messaging guidance, and regular feedback to maximize pipeline generation
Own the complete sales cycle from initial outreach through negotiation and close, targeting 60-day sales cycles or less
Conduct consultative discovery to uncover buyer pains and connect them to strategic business outcomes like reduced ramp time, improved win rates, and increased team productivity
Demonstrate Ava's capabilities with confidence, articulating how our Sales Reasoning Model delivers value before, during, and after every customer interaction
Navigate multi-stakeholder deals involving Sales Leaders, Enablement, Revenue Operations, and executive buyers
Execute hands-on evaluation motions (trials) to prove Ava's capability and build champion conviction
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and leadership to refine our go-to-market approach
Maintain disciplined pipeline hygiene and accurate forecasting in Salesforce
Desired Skills and Experience
1-3 years of sales experience with at least 12 months in a full-cycle closing role in B2B SaaS
Experience running deals across a range of complexity from fast-moving with direct executive access to longer cycles involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional buying committees
Proven track record as an SDR/BDR with consistent achievement against activity and pipeline metrics
Experience with outbound prospecting tools and techniques, you know how to build pipeline from scratch
Demonstrated ability to conduct discovery that uncovers business pain, not just feature needs
Comfort selling into competitive markets and positioning against established vendors
Strong communication skills: you can command a room, hold executive attention, and produce compelling outreach messages
Familiarity with sales tools including Salesforce, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and similar platforms
Ability to work remotely with discipline, self-motivation, and accountability
