What is the role?

This is a technical leadership position for the OpenText global B2B Trading Grid and Japan local platform.

As the Systems Engineering, you have the responsibility of reviewing, planning and evaluating the hardware ,software and custom deployments to the organization’s global/Japan unique CLOUD production infrastructure. You have the added responsibility of being a subject matter expert in multiple platforms/systems and open source software like ACMS/HULFT/tomcat/apache. You will have detailed technical knowledge of multiple system types and open source technologies and the ability to collaborate cross functionally and communicate with customers.

You will participate in a cross-functional team accountable to develop, administer and coordinate all phases of CLOUD_OPS platform support, including infrastructure design, capacity planning, configuration management and day-to-day operational support. You will keep abreast of government regulations applicable to systems operations and ensure corporate compliance.

What you will be doing:

  • Work with other departments/Japan customers and seamlessly implement any production changes, especially to servers/storages and OS/middleware in Japan data centers, required.
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for given system element.
  • Provide occasionally Oncall ‘tier3’ support of specific production system section.
  • Deploy all new production server fully configured and install the software to them.
  • Provide documentation for all new design implementations engineered from within the group or assist in documentation for projects jointly engineered with other departments.
  • Develop and maintain production server documentation.
  • Cross-Train production support & engineering personnel to ensure knowledge is held by multiple individuals.
  • Join the customer projects as an expert of the infrastructure when required.
  • Manage Japan vendors, DC providers, server makers, resellers in Japanese.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have a proven record that fulfills the majority of these requirements:

  • 8+ years of industry engineering experience.
  • Experienced with ACMS , HULFT, NISMAIL installation and customization
  • Experienced with some virtualization platforms
  • Unix expert with detailed Linux experience
  • Experienced with one or more open source software deployment and maintenance like tomcat/apache, HP operations manager
  • Strong and current experience in infrastructure technologies
  • Japanese to be able to communicate with NEC engineer verbally and in e-mails
  • English to be able to communicate with other regional colleagues verbally and in e-mails
  • Experienced with the customer management and communication.
  • Record of achieving objectives; successful project completion, within budget and time frame
  • Literate, communicative, client-friendly and flexible
  • ITIL foundation certification highly preferred
  • Business level Japanese
  • Business level English (TOEIC 730+)

Nice to have

  • Experienced with cloud service, B2B , EDI
