The Network Operations team at OpenText is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructures across on-premises datacenters and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). The team manages critical network devices include. Focused on continuous improvement, the team monitors network health, troubleshoots complex hybrid environments, enforces best practices, and stays current with emerging networking and automation technologies to support OpenText’s global enterprise operations.

Your Impact:

OpenText is seeking a Lead Network Specialist to join its global infrastructure team. This role will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure within on-prem OpenText datacenters and cloud environments, particularly hyperscaler platforms. You will work closely with DevOps teams, cloud architects, and infrastructure teams to create scalable, automated, and efficient networking solutions. Your expertise in Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native network management will be key to enabling rapid deployment and continuous integration of networking components.

The network devices consist of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, tools and monitoring and network cloud technologies. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing, maintaining, and enhancing a highly resilient business network within on-prem datacenters and cloud environments, and understands the challenges of supporting a 24x7 global operation. The engineer will follow process and standards, the responsibility consists of working as an individual or within a team to implement and coordinate highly complex network deployments.

As a Lead Network Specialist you will:

  • Provide day-to-day support for routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers used by Network Operations.
  • Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure across hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Build highly available, scalable, and secure networking solutions for on-prem datacenter and cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform scripts to automate provisioning and configuration of networking resources.
  • Integrate network resources into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and CircleCI.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance, capacity, and health across on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex hybrid network issues and create clear documentation for designs and configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while enforcing networking best practices, standards, and guidelines.

What you need to Succeed:

  • 10+ years’ experience with network devices and general Network Engineering.
  • 5+ years supporting SDN technologies (VMWare NSX, Juniper, Cisco).
  • 4+ years focused on cloud networking across hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls, and platforms from Cisco, Arista, F5, Juniper, Checkpoint.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSec VPN, VLANs, firewall security policies, and spine-leaf architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline automation.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native networking services (AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancers).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication skills, and ability to design, build, and support large-scale network infrastructure.

Salary Range: $98,080- $147,120; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
