YOUR IMPACT

The Global Sourcing and Contract Management team plays a critical role in maximizing the value of OpenText’s vendor partnerships while ensuring our business stakeholders have seamless access to the goods and services they need to thrive. As a Sourcing Lead, you will take ownership of end-to-end sourcing initiatives, leading projects across all phases of the sourcing lifecycle. This includes category assessment, identifying cost optimization opportunities, conducting vendor due diligence, managing RFx processes, negotiating contracts, and overseeing ongoing vendor performance.

You will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, guiding sourcing strategies and influencing category decisions to meet evolving business and technology needs. Your role will be highly collaborative, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.


WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key IT stakeholders, developing and executing sourcing strategies aligned to business requirements
  • Support, mentor, and enable a high-performing Technology Sourcing team to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and sourcing pipelines
  • Develop and implement category management strategies across IT and renewals to drive cost optimization and improve supplier performance
  • Provide subject matter expertise in IT categories, enabling stakeholders to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Ensure a global approach to sourcing initiatives to maximize purchasing power, standardization, and leverage across the organization
  • Lead end-to-end RFx strategy, planning, and execution, driving cross-functional alignment on major sourcing initiatives
  • Manage supplier selection processes using data-driven analysis and market benchmarking to support optimal decision-making
  • Lead commercial negotiations and oversee contract execution, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with business objectives
  • Drive supplier performance and value through governance, contract compliance, innovation, continuous improvement, and reduced total cost of ownership
  • Contribute to procurement transformation and business outcomes through financial planning, M&A synergy identification, industry benchmarking, and maintaining strong internal/external networks and market intelligence

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or project/program management, with a bachelor’s degree (MBA, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred); professional certifications (SCMP, ISM, PMP) and global/M&A integration experience considered strong assets
  • Demonstrates a high degree of business ethics, accountability, and professionalism in all sourcing and stakeholder interactions
  • Proven leadership ability with strong team mentoring skills, acting as a role model and catalyst for change
  • Extensive experience in IT Category Management and Strategic Sourcing, with a deep understanding of best practices and sourcing methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of IT categories, supplier landscapes, and pricing models, enabling effective category strategy development
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Resilient and confident in handling complex contract negotiations, tight timelines, and high stakeholder expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and motivate cross-functional teams when leading large-scale sourcing initiatives
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and influencing capabilities, with a continuous improvement mindset and proficiency in MS Office and procurement/workflow systems

As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $86,800- $130,200; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
