General Description

OpenText is looking for a Project Manager to help realize and drive OpenText’s growing Enterprise Information Management (EIM) professional services business. In this role the candidate will assist organizations in maximizing their investment in OpenText solutions. The candidate will be liaising with customers to gain a real understanding of their business needs and drivers. Excellent communications skills to help build effective relationships with customers and partners alike are essential.

The candidate will be pro-active, technically aware and professional.

The candidate must be a professional who has an interest in how business processes work and interact with technology in order to deliver world-class Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions that enable clients to become highly effective businesses. The candidate will manage key client projects as a project manager. The responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project.

The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Primary Duties

  1. You are acting together with our customers and technical experts. You´ll be analyzing business processes and define optimization potential.
  2. Support of Presales activities.
  3. Understands the technology needed to be applied to offer the most effective solutions offered by Open Text such as capabilities, strengths, weaknesses and competition.
  4. Can explain technical solutions.
  5. Leads and motivates other members of the project team to contribute to overall team success and develops strong working relationships with key users.
  6. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  7. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  8. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  9. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  10. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  11. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  12. Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  13. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  14. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  15. Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  16. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  17. Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  18. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  19. Use and continually develop leadership skills
  20. Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
  21. Perform other related duties as assigned
  22. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

Skills and Knowledge

  1. Thorough knowledge of all areas of business operations combined with strong analytical skills
  2. Experience in implementing and modifying applications and leading projects.
  3. Demonstrated project leadership skills such as providing feedback, team building, delegation, resource management, and planning and scheduling project work
  4. At least 3 years’ experience with information technology
  5. At least 1 offshore project delivery completion
  6. Proven working experience in project management.
  7. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  9. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  10. Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
  11. You bring analytical and conceptual skills, planning and organizational skills as well as a cooperative and goal-oriented way of conducting work
  12. Creativity in problem solving, solution- oriented work and high self-motivation are completing your profile
  13. Working in a motivated team, flexibility and mobility are the basis of your successful work

Language

  • Native Japanese
  • English to manage offshore-technical teams

Work Environment

A willingness to travel is essential as much of the work is performed on customer sites.
