Position Objective:

The role Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for providing support and review for all activities related to hosted Applications on Cloud. This individual must understand thoroughly of current design with hands-on technical experience. The role will also help support development of innovative solutions in cloud and infrastructure technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams from Product Development, Professional Services and Customer Support teams to Deploy Services / Applications.
  • Be an expert on Datacenter migration of Applications/Services, and Disaster Recovery Planning & execution.
  • Work on Post Implementation Review process for bugs, fixes, and issues encountered in active production instances.
  • Actively support production incidents, problems, and on root cause analysis.
  • Provide feedback with Engineering and Professional Services teams to make services stable and resilient.
  • Develop/enhance OpenText Automated Deployment strategy
  • Knowledge on integration points of hosted Applications and related implementation expert for CloudOps
  • Work with 3rd party vendors and their support organizations for any impact to OT hosted solutions
  • Ability to prioritize work to ensure timely project deliveries.
  • Available to work on weekends to scheduled maintenance activities and Deployments.
  • On rotation monthly 24x7 oncall support

Job Specifications and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related.
  • Minimum 7 to 9 years of experience in Cloud Applications and Platforms
  • Manage and maintain Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes platforms, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Design scalable platform architecture with focus on capacity planning, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud (IaaS, PaaS), virtualization (VMware/hypervisors), and networking (DNS, SMTP, firewalls, F5/load balancers).
  • Experience with GCP and AWS, and provisioning infrastructure using Terraform (IaC), including Kubernetes clusters (GKE).
  • Deploy Cloud Foundry using BOSH.
  • Proficient in DevOps tools and CI/CD (GitLab, Concourse).
  • Strong automation and scripting in Python, Shell, PowerShell, Perl, AWK, Expect, Go.
  • Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, managing container-based deployments.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux and Windows systems across physical and virtual environments.
  • Skilled in application performance analysis (JVM tuning, thread dumps) and middleware (Tomcat, WebLogic, WebMethods, ActiveMQ, Apache).
  • Familiar with monitoring tools (New Relic, Zabbix, HP OM, JIRA) and ITIL processes.
  • Experience ensuring architecture compliance through design reviews.
